I don't know about the rest of the US or the world, but here in Cleveland McDonald's is running a spot with Spice Girls music shreiking in the background. Just thought I'd let you know that they couldn't have produced a better "instant channel change" if they tried.
P.S. Why does McDonald's advertise so much anyway. Is there anyone in the Western World who isn't familiar with them already?

I have worked at two different McD's and my bro worked at two others. Don't even get me started on that one.
As far as the commercial: I am just sick that a nasty place like McD's is using Spice Girls. That is SO beneath them. (Hoo, boy, I know the responses for that one!) I suppose next they will use songs by Hanson or NKOTB.

In all seriousness, those of you that are railing on MacD's for using this Spice Girl's song, either 1.) you don't get it, or 2.) you have no idea how advertising works. Everyone of you that is crying over this commercial, and it sucks, or it is "beneath them" (give me a break), are failing to realize that you are doing what the commercial was intended to do. Bring Mickie D's to the fore front of conversations and get it on your mind, so next time you want something to eat, you might just be thinking of there product. There is no denying that the Spice Girls were HUGE as well as "Wannabe". It may have been 5 years ago, but still. And you know that the Spice Girls and the song "Wannabe" had more closet fans than anything. So now, the Spice Girl rage has died down. It may have ben awhile sinc "Wannabe" was heard, and BAM, there it is, all over the T.V. in a McDonald's commercial. It grabs your attention so you watch their presentation. Time to lighten up guys. There has got to be something better out there to bitch about.

My god, people are bitching about their national icon. And not because they're brainwashing kids, or poisoning people, or destroying the competition, or destroying the rain-forest, or killing animals, or polluting everything, or putting too much salt on the fries, but because they used the Spice Girls in an ad
