So! Here's to me. The Thread Killer. Almost every time I post on a thread I do not start, I end up being the last reply. Whether it's bad luck, or stupidity.
Anybody else have this problem?

Always seems to happen to me, less so on this forum but more on another aviation forum, the name of which shall not be mentioned..
I prefer to think that it is because my post is either:
A: Beyond the intelligence levels of everyone else so that no one else does not dare post after me for fear of appearing sub-intelligent, or
B: Such a good posting that it completely says all that needs to be said on the relevant topic and therefore no one else could possibly add anything more constructive to it.
And I will continue to allow myself to keep thinking that..!

Quoting ZuluAviator994 (Thread starter): Almost every time I post on a thread I do not start, I end up being the last reply
It would be far worse if your thread starter was the last post in your thread. I have a fuzzy memory from days past where someone when back through pages upon pages of the forums and produced a way cool list of how any times each member was the "thread killer"
I believe it was sent to me in an email and was broken down into a very nifty graph by name and thread "kills" This should not be too hard to reproduce now as all a ambitious member would have to do is drop the names the member in the last post column and thread title column from several dozen pages of a given forum into a (dare I say the words) "spread sheet".
The results would allow some lucky member to earn the lofty monthly title of "Chief Thread Executioner of the Month"

Yes, actually. It seems to happen to me quite often in the photog forum. I will enter an active and interesting discussion, chime in with my two cents and then down goes the thread sinking into the archives.

I've had that on another forum, really p&sses me off since people just ignore my correct explanation or answer and debate about some irrelevant point...
Then again, the last thread I answered on here was about 3 hours ago and it dissapeared immediately after I replied... spooky...

The Prize was a crude photo from the wild days of this site it ended up being a bit of an insult. It was awarded to people for a variety of reasons some of which were not too nice (strangely many time it was quite funny) which is why I did not want to associate the honor of "Chief Thread Executioner of the Month" with something as naughty as the prize.
The reference was made as many times "the prize" was often the last word needed when a thread, topic etc need to be wrapped up with a single image and thus it often became a "thread killer" itself

That thread is simply in a deep sleep and could be stirred from it's nap with a few keystrokes. Now if the if your thread is the last one made before the thread in question is archived then you will in fact be the thread killer. As it stands now and without any additional posts the thread in question will be archived in 13 days

Oh my, the thread killer is becoming quite famous, it appears he has made it to the #15 spot in a google search for thread killer. he was nowhere to be seen on the first page earlier today. Perhaps word pf his evil deeds are spreading.

A thread killer's work is never accidental!! Rumor has it that the thread killer is quite upset that you leaked his code name of "Uncle Frank", he had to go through the effort of faking his own death to continue his work

Quoting ZuluAviator994 (Thread starter): Almost every time I post on a thread I do not start, I end up being the last reply. Whether it's bad luck, or stupidity.
You see you are not a thread killer. Look at what you created, I thread that has lasted for 3 weeks+, had more than 3,400 views and 280 replies. Your thread brought people from around the world together to have a laugh and enjoy each other's company. Your post helped build a sense of a community of friends.
That community of friend is what this site is all about. So instead of a thread killer you have become a thread and community builder and for that I am grateful as I have not enjoyed a thread here this much in quite a long time.
Thanks again

There's a couple of threads over at nerd-ops, err... tech-ops, I may have killed.
But don't tell anybody

I am fairly sure that at a YYZ meet a few years ago I managed to snap a photo of the thread killer is disguise. He tried to make a quick get away and was last seen heading down Dixon Road

Both Humpy T. Chimp and WillyTheWonderWhale are not the thread killer suspect. The YYZ meet from days gone by is a real hint

Well "Fetchez tueur de fil" is not the proper Python translation of "Fetch me the thread killer". IN I was trying for something a bit more in the Python spirit but my French classes are but a fuzzy distant high school memory
On a Python note, Sir Robin did catch site of the thread killer but sadly the evil doer managed to ... ... run away ... ...

The thing that started the thread killer down his evil path was his not being invited to the post meet party at The Keg....
Ah yes the post meet party at The Keg!!, the look on the hostess's face when we walked up to her and said "table for 46" .. The Chicago style NY strip steak was well worth the wait.

Quoting ZuluAviator994 (Thread starter): Hey All,
So! Here's to me. The Thread Killer. Almost every time I post on a thread I do not start, I end up being the last reply.
If you explain all aspects of the issue of a thread very well, and in an understandable, convincing and well documented way, then there isn't much more to say, and members stop posting.
I guess that's one definition of a "thread killer".

Fetchez la demotivational poster
All this thread killer and Monty Python talk has me thinking of making a "bring out your dead" cartoon where the cart is filled with dead threads with one saying "I not dead yet.... I'm feeling much better".. Now all I need to to is find that cheezy animation program
But then I remember I am an old man who fears retribution from the thread killer... .. in addition I need a nap
