I'm thinking of buying a Slingbox Pro before the next NHL season so that I can watch my Center Ice package if I'm on the road. Can anyone give me a review as to what the picture is like and if the speed is okay. I have a normal Verizon high speed internet connection at home.

I don't own it personally however, when I worked in an electronics store, they sold very well and did not have a high rate of return (most returns were by people thinking it was TIVO). I haven't heard anything bad about it.
CNET reviews have a pretty decent review for this:

Yes, have one and love it. I watch local TV out of Tampa here in Birmingham via my high speed internet connection. I can also watch TV at work in BHM airport but sometimes have a problem with the wireless connection.
I know of a guy that lives in Japan and uses his slingbox to watch University of South Florida football game.
When I lived in Tampa and worked at TPA we did not get local channels on the satellite TV in the breakroom so I would connect to my sling box over the wireless connection and watch the Bucs games.
You can also travel with it and connect from any hotel that has high speed internet. Plus you can control your DVR with your slingbox. At least I can in Tampa with Brighthouse.
One more thing that i can think of that is funny, I can piss my wife off by logging on to my slingbox and changing the channel at home from anywhere in the world. This will ussally get me a cell call or text message telling me to leave the F$^%ing TV alone.
Its a great thing to have if you have a good internet connection.

I've had the original Slingbox for a number of years now and I absolutely love it. I bought it mainly to watch local news/sports while at university in the UK, but now that I'm back at home I mainly use it on my phone, around the house, and while on vacation.
It really is a clever product. Initial step up is pretty straightforward, and so far, I've had no hardware/software issues whatsoever. And on top of that, there are no contracts, subscriptions, or monthly fees. Granted, the quality probably isn't going to blow you away, but it's definitely adequate (so long as you have a decent internet connection), especially when you consider that you're essentially beaming your home cable/satellite directly to your phone/computer, anywhere in the world. Two thumbs up from me!
