So...The 2009-10 NCAA College Football is just around the corner. I am and stoked that the season is almost here!
Yesterday, ticket sales for individual games were open for sale at UW.
This morning, I bought two tickets to the Washington vs. California game on Dec 5th, which is the last game of the regular season. I cannot wait! Paid $148 for the two tickets which included the normal tax plus a stupid convenience fee of $5. Oh well.
I am also going to try to get the Colorado Buffaloes vs. Colorado State Rams game for Sept 6th, but the tickets are not on sale yet. Hoping to score some tix!
So...who else has plans for going to any NCAA football games? I encourage any fans who root for any team to post here. Let it get heated on this thread...I support it!
GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think ESPN has a huge schedule of who is playing who. But I normally go to the college's athletic websites to get schedules.

Crazy thing right? You're a UW Huskies fan. I attend UConn and we're the huskies too. Smack talk: better looking mascot though. Too bad our football is still on the rise, but it's stiil electric at "The Rent" though. Every game is pretty much sold out. I'm more excited for NFL, but at this point with just baseball going on (AKA the most boring time of the year in terms of sports) I just want to see some sort of football. I hope they extend the NFL season.

No argument there. The UW logo that is being used now is just plain ridiculous (We can blame then-AD Barbara Hedges for her stupidity) Just lame! I hear that UW is going to change that logo and bring the original purple back, which is a darker purple. The current one that is used just doesn't do it... But the change won't be this year from what I've read. It's too late to do the change.
All this Michael Vick thing, Shaun Alexander being lazy, Terrell Owens crying, etc etc.... I just gave up on the NFL as a whole. It is just not competitive anymore and it is full of stupid drama.

What I saw at a few spring practice games and stuff I've been reading over the summer, this years team should be comparable to last years. Not awesome, but not crap either. I think his brother in a couple years will be just as good as he was, maybe better, who knows?

West VA alum here,
Hoping for a good year from the Eeer's, I know there are mixed opinions so we'll see.
Plan on making a handful of UVA games, UMD (University of Maryland) games, and most importantly the WVU game @ Auburn, with another WV road (aka Air Tran) trip possible to USF pending team performance.
Pending when work training is in Chicago could possibly catch a Northwestern game. Saw NU play Purdue last year in Evanston.

We have a new head coach this year, so hopefully we'll be better than we have been for my entire career at Purdue. I'm stoked because I moved into a house on Stadium Ave, pretty close to the stadium, and we will get so many drunk people walking in front of our lawn it will be a good time.

I second that! Have fun, should be an interesting matchup. Now if we could just beat Colorado at home and finally get Pitt back! Oh man, has the crap been flying from Pitt fans since that game! Of course, it's easy to bash them when they've yet to win a BCS game or an outright Big East title, but do they care, heck no!

Don't count on it just yet. Edsall has done a very nice job with the Husky program since 2004, but with Brown moving on, where's the running game? I'd say Rutgers and UConn are probably the two best young teams to watch in the conference right now, with Louisville and Syracuse bringing up the rear. For some reason, the Sporting News seems to think Pitt is it in the conference this year, all without knowing who the quarterback, running backs and starting receivers are. Oh well, it's time for payback!

Why would you go to TPA for the USF game? That's the biggest question mark of all our road games!

So does Washington. Steve Sarkisian comes to Washington from USC, as well as Nick Holt. I am pretty sure these two are very well aware of last season's disappointing 0-12 season and knows to be sure NOT to repeat that again. I for one, am glad Willingham is gone!
I hope Jake Locker stays healthy this year!

I don't know enough about the Huskies to know if Willingham was really the problem there, but I will say this, that BYU game was a travesty! I don't care if Brett Favre does that, you don't call unsportsmanlike conduct on a play like that! I remember saying to my dad after that game, Willingham probably just lost his job.

It was the worst game of the entire season last year! It was very embarrassing for me to watch in front of friends here in Colorado. I was not in a very good mood after that, you have no idea! And how is throwing the ball up in the air during a touchdown celebration spiking the ball and unsportsmanlike conduct on Jake Locker? I remember the national Sportsnews outlets were really crying foul on that call for a few weeks after that! The Pac-10 did not protest nor did they do anything about it!

Oh, you're right. They officially let him go right after that BYU game, but they let Willingham finish up the season to prevent the players being alienated by the termination. And they still went 0-12!

What are you talking about college football started about a week ago when I got home with my NCAA 2010 for the PS2.
My USF Bulls beat Florida in the swamp 10-7. GO BULLS.
Anyway the best road trip from last year was the West Virginia game. Mountaineer fan were a class act everywhere my wife and I went in Morgantown. And we had a great time at the game even in the snow. So come down to Tampa and I will buy any of you guys beers.
Our road trips for this year are the FSU game in Tallahassee and maybe the Connecticut game.

My friends and I always talk about how rough it must be for South Carolina, as most people in the country perceive "Carolina" to be referring to UNC and "USC" to be referring to University of Southern California. Personally I always call USC "South Carolina", as do most of the people that I know who aren't from South Carolina.
Anyways, as a UNC student and fan I was disappointed to see ESPN reporting last night that the UNC-USC football game for 2010 is likely to be postponed so that UNC can play LSU instead. I'm excited to play LSU, but not at the expense of the emerging North-South Carolina football rivalry!

I don't know if I'd use the word "emerging" as much as "rekindled." Keep in mind that USC was a charter member of the ACC and was a member of the Conference for eighteen years before leaving in '71. While an independent for the next 20 years, USC played its former ACC brethren quite a bit until it joined the SEC in '91. I've liked the scheduling over the last few years - an ACC school on the schedule other than Clemsux...errr..Clemson is a fun change of pace and pays tribute to our past a bit. I'm definitely getting tickets to see USC play NC State here in Raleigh this year and had been looking forward to the USC-UNC rematch - if it doesn't work out, I wouldn't mind seeing us take a crack at Duke, a game I'm sure would have significance to Spurrier.

Actually, it's pretty easy to win in college football overtime. Defer the ball to the other team, hold them to a field goal and score a TD to win. Apparently, Stewart hasn't grasped that concept yet. If he had, we'd have been to back-to-back BCS bowls, although the 14-point comeback against Cincy was nice, especially watching the fans rush back into their seats for OT!

The BCS formula is stupid. Heck, the BCS is stupid as a whole! The formula changes every year and the folks who run that show doesn't reveal how they calculate stuff anyway. Its not the same every year. It is a beyond broken system beyond repair!
As for the the Rose Bowl.....it should not be a part of the BCS, leave it alone! It belongs to the #1 Pac-10 vs. #1 Big-10 game that has been a tradition for over 50 years!
What I favor is a simple play-off format for the top 8 teams in the top 25. That, alone, will crown the true National Champion!

Well, NCAA splits football (I think just football but IDK) into three divisions. The schools we are mentioning are Division 1(the largest) and 3(the smallest).
Its Schools like University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, TX, that are division 3. (where I'm considering going)

You are going to be waiting awhile. Florida has one of the most favorable schedules this year for getting back to the Championship. They also have the majority of the defense from last year returning as well.
Texas is going to get disapointed once again by not making it to their own championship game
Definitely. I like going to Ohio State games, as it's my alma mater. But I enjoy more going to Mount Union games...I am a season ticket holder with them. I've been a fan since the 60's, but since about 1990 they have become a powerhouse, winning championship after championship. Great program. And what is more meaningful to me is that they actually GRADUATE virtually all their players, And they are intelligent, too, with many academic awards. The quarterback who just graduated was a double major in Physics and Mathematics with a grade point of 3.84, and got a huge scholarship to graduate school. He was also a Presidential Scholar. Mount Union is an excellent academic college.
Going to football games there is pure fun. Great atmosphere, great band, great fans, beautiful campus, and with TV not an issue they just play the game! Kickoff to final gun is generally within 5 minutes either side of 2 1/2 hours.
