Oh, man...RIP

I grew up watching his teen-oriented movies, especially Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Breakfast Club

Also loved his Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Sorry to read about this.
I really enjoyed his 80s teen movies. I grew up on those films.

R.I.P. John Hughes.

I'm starting to feel old.

One of my favorite lines from "Breakfast Club" was by the principal (who also died not too long ago): "You mess with the bull you get the horns."

A real shame. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is my favorite comedy, and Cameron Frye is simply one of my favorite characters in a movie. Mr. Hughes, you will be missed.

Really? I'm sorry to hear it. He and Bender really make that movie (and I always got a kick out of seeing his incompetent face in Die Hard too).

I realize this thread is about John Hughes, but I couldn't resist.

Unfortunately, he is no longer with us.

Great stuff. I lived in Northbrook (the basis for the fictional "shermer" of JH movies) and it was fun driving around thinking about all the fictional story lines floating around town.

Hopefully AMC will do a John Hughes movie weekend or something like that to commemorate.

Do you like movies about gladiators?

Wow ... a double whammy RIP in one thread. I totally didn't realise they both are now gone and will be missed.

Is that where that line is from? I think I have only seen this movie once a long time ago.

Yes the soundtrack sounds so much better on the original 8-track
