Alrighty folks, the NFL is back for the 09-10 season and this is the thread to post all your predictions!
Will Matt Stafford and Mark Sanchez fold like deck chairs on the Titanic?
Will Tom Brady get his knee tattooed again?
Will T.O. actually show up to games?
Feel free to list your predictions here! As for me I predict....
Drew Brees will throw for 7,500 yards and the running backs will rush for only 200.
Brett Farve will age 250 years in 4 games
Al Davis and Ralph Wilson still won't die
75% of Dade County will own some part of the Dolphins
Jacksonville will sell 100 seats for every home game
Troy Paulomalu will get engaged to Cousin It
Michael Vick will have an unfortunate incident with PETA, a blender and a certain part of his anatomy.
Bombs away!

The Detroit Lions will win at least one more game than they did last year (come on, that should be a given!)
Dick Lebeau still will not exit the fountain of youth...

Wait? Detroit has a football team??? Since when?? I thought what they showed last year was cheerleaders dressed in pads!
Oh wait..... cheerleaders in pads would hit harder and have a better secondary.... I guess that WAS the Lions then

Do they even have cheerleaders? Patriots all the way this year. The haters can talk about spygate and whatnot, get over it. That was years ago. You can't take away the SB wins. And if we stay healthy this year, then we should be good.

This is the year that the Chargers will be in the Super Bowl again. On paper,Chargers are strong and deep in most departments.Chargers seem to have shore up the defense and barring any key injuries,no more inconsistencies as in past years under Turner. If there any gray areas,it would have to be LT and the maybe the front line protecting Rivers. But this is based on two games.I would like to see the Cowboys in the big show with us,just to beat Jerry Jones, but the Dallas has too many holes and questions to fill.
Team predictions:
AFC
Chargers
Steelers
Colts
Dolphins
Wild Cards
Ravens
Patriots
AFC Championship
Chargers win vs.Steelers
NFC:
Bears,I think might surprise some people
Saints are do!
Giants
49ers,OK,it's a west coast thing

Detroit will not finish with the worst record in the NFL this season, the Rams will. Detroit will beat the Saints in Week One, but will not win again until Week 8, when they play the Rams. They will go 4-12.
Atlanta will win the NFC South on a tiebreaker with Carolina. Michael Turner will break the Falcons' single season rushing record of 1846 yards set by Jamal Anderson during the 1998 season. Eric Dickerson's NFL record of 2105 is probably safe for another season, though Turner may come close to 2000 yards.
The NFL will force Jerry Jones to raise the new center hung video display at Cowboys Stadium after several more controversial punts that strike it.

I don't think the NY Giants will be worth a damn.
The Titans could have two rushers get close to 2,000 yds.
The Cowboys will disappoint.
Favre will surprise a lot of people.
Ray Rice will have a breakout year at RB.
TO will ruin another QB; if he plays.
Patriots are overated despite Brady coming back healthy.
Philip Rivers is overpaid.
Drew Brees will take the Saints to Miami in February.

I'd put money on the Patriots (as much as I don't like them) having more wins than BOTH of the teams from the state of Missouri combined (Chiefs and Rams).
As a Kansas City fan, I almost wish the team would move. They are bad, bad, bad. I'd say we get 4th in the AFC West, behind the Raiders.

Yea he will, if he does VooDoo and steal all of Brady or Mannings talent. Even then, the Jets are so untalented that they wouldn't make it.

Notice the StirThePot emoticon next to my remark.
Seriously, Sanchez is a bit too overhyped, especially in the Latin media. All just because he's the first Mexican-American to make it to the NFL or something. Sure, he may have played a decent college season last year, but playing in the NFL isn't exactly an easy endeavour.
At most, I give the Jets a wildcard spot, that's it. As for the team in "my" market, the Denver Broncos, it's going to be business as usual (no playoff spot this season). Brett Favre has already lost his credibility when he decided to go out of retirement after entering retirement for the second time in two years and I doubt the Vikings will go far, Michael Vick won't play a single minute this season (regardless of whether he's reinstated or McNabb can stay the starter for an entire season), and the Cowboys, even with their new superarena in Arlington, won't even have a grasp at the playoffs this season and will embarass themselves yet again.
As for Superbowl predictions, I'll get back to you once the playoffs start.

This season we will have the battle for the bottom of the basement, when Detroit plays Cincinnati on December 6th.
I think the New York Giants will be serious contenders in the NFC. I expect Carolina will be up there too.
In the AFC, I'll be pulling for my Bengals, but I expect it will come down to one of three teams: Chargers, Patriots, & Steelers.
Arizona and Miami will both either have really good seasons or absolutely awful seasons, with the Dolphins coming off their AFC East win following their 1-15 season and Arizona winning the NFC following mediocre at best seasons.

I was watching the San Diego vs Atlanta pre-season match today. Apart from all the QB rotation on both sides (which is normal for the pre-season, I know that), it was a pretty exiting match, almost of playoff quality.

I agree,it was a toss up.That's why I included both in the playoffs. If Favre sparkles, then the Viks might be the better team.

Heck, when the Steelers had a 6-10 record in 2003, I still rooted for them. If you want really bad, look at the early years of the Steelers. They stunk up the NFL through 4 decades!
As for the Bengals, it's not all bad. They need a more competent head coach like we talked about before.

Everyone is conveniently forgetting about the Packers. If you have watched their 1st team this pre-season at all you've notice that they are much improved. Aaron Rodgers has been as close to perfect as one can get. Their new 3-4 defense has been dominant with the 1st team. I predict Packers will make a strong play-off run this year as long as they stay healthy!
