Hey There:

I am sure there are many individuals here on this site that are good with music, and know a lot about it. I am one of those guys who pretty much listen to everything, and the one song I listed below is one of my all time favorites. I understand that the genre of this song is "New Wave" but to me it sounds a little like Reggie. Can anyone help me find more songs with this type of rhythm and beat to it? ( Sorry if the thread title is a little misleading, I was not sure how to word this question).

( Land Down Under ) :

From what I understand this song is very popular in Australia!

Oh my god, I haven't seen that video in 25 years.

I would classify it as pop reggae (heavy on the pop).

Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.

What can I say? It's a classic!

As for other similar songs, The Safety Dance by Men Without Hats ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcOZ6xFxJqg ) is always played right after this song on my iTunes. They're relatively similar (in the 80's kind of style).

But if you are looking into the reggae influenced stuff, I think you'd be interested in Ska. Bands like The Specials, The Beat (or English Beat in the US), and Madness ('our House' song). I suspect you may even enjoy bands like Cornershop.

Here are a couple examples:

Either way you're looking at late 70's and 80's era music.

Happy Tune Hunting,

Of course there's UB40, a British reggae band that's been around at least as long as Men At Work-
