Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a feeling there is not going to be a repeat. Yes, it's still early, but the Steelers could have beat Chicago today.

Their running game improved only slightly from what I read, but it's still dreadful, and how the heck does a team like that give up 10 unanswered points (granted they gave up 16 such points in the Superbowl if I'm not mistaken)?

I'm sorry, but the Steelers deserve to be thrown under the bus, as the Bus himself essentially did in his column last week! They can start with Bruce Arians. He is a very weak offensive coordinator. If anything, I'd even go as far as to call him a saboteur with his lame and inane play calling. He needs to go...

Oh well, kudos Chicago. Well done without Urlacher. There's hope for you yet!

The E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles... what the heck was that?!!

How about the rest of yins guys?

The Bengals beat the Packers!  biggrin  So the Bengals lost to a team they should have beaten last week and then beat a team they should have lost to this week. Man and to think the Bengals would be 2-0 today if it weren't for that tipped pass against DEN.

Giants are playing the Cowboys now. I'm just glad the first points ever scored in the new stadium were by the New York Giants.  bigthumbsup

The Titans got beat by the Texans....sigh.

The Cowboys can't tackle, and have had terrible luck so far against the Giants.

More to come.

Cheers,

waa waa waaa...

Well, there's a little pick-me-up there...

I heard the Jets beat the Pats. Heh, if not for a flukey kick returner to fumble the ball away to the Pats in the end there, the Pats could be winless.

The Steelers also could be winless right now. Man, they really look pedestrian...

They're at the Bengals, at home against the Chargers and then home again for the Lions. If they lose those games, then something is severely wrong with this team...

What an exciting game in Dallas tonight. But the Giants won with a field goal as the clock hit 0:00. Dallas loses the first game in the new stadium to a rival!  bigthumbsup

Kind of wish the Cowboys had pulled off a win in their first game in the (unbelievable) new stadium. I liked both teams, but I especially remember watching both Jason Witten and Gerald Sensabaugh just absolutely light up my poor high school football team back in the day.

VERY glad the HIGHLY overrated Pats finally got their comeuppance.

Hopefully the Colts look good against Miami tomorrow night.

Seeing the Patriots, Cowboys, Titans and Steelers struggle makes my Chargers losing not so bad. For EVERY fan, the season is young.

It'll be interesting to see how Indy-MIA turns out tomorrow...

I hear you. Sucks we lost, but at least it was a very close game against a good team.

The most surprising upsets for me were the Packers/Bengals and Texans/Titans games. Talk about upsets!

It was the inexperience of the offensive front line protecting Rivers that beat us.Rivers was under pressure more then usual and last play drove home the point. But great game just the same and Chargers will start to gel as the super bowl team they should be.

True...

I was actually routing for the Chargers since the Steelers lost and that they were against the Ravens, but oh well. The Ravens are in 1st in the AFC North now with a 2-0 record.

As I said before, no sour grapes against Chicago. They're a good team; they have a good defense (apparently) even without Urlacher. Granted they went against one of the weakest offensive units in the league, and I DO MEAN WEAK!!

Am I the only one on here who thinks Bruce Arians is an awful offensive coordinator? His play calling is pathetic. On 3rd and short, he sends Ben back to pass were he's usually dropped for a sack. When he throws in run plays, they are very predictable IMO, and I have not seen a gadget play since 2006 or 2007. What is with sending Parker up the middle when everyone knows he's a dangerous back when he's able to cut to the outside. I think that if you're better at running certain routes, then that's where you should go. 6, 7, or 8 yards is better than 1 or 2 yards at best, and that's what he did 3 years straight from 2005 - 2007. He didn't get hit much, at least too severely anyway, and he rushed for over 1,200 yards each season.

If this crap continues, Arians should be fired.. They need someone who is known for protecting the quarterback as well as coming up with good running schemes. Arians, of course, is not good at either of those. I really think he's setting Roethlisberger up. Maybe that's a stretch, but that's what I think...

Probably not actually. Kudos to the Steelers D for holding Forte to 29 yards on the ground...despite the fact that Turner kinda forgot about him. It was upset day in the NFC North yesterday. That said, that Packers game might bite the Bears yet.

Another stellar performance by my Cleveland Browns  Yeah sure

They looked OK in the first half, but then in the second half, they got spanked. Quinn got sacked 4 times!

Last week, same story... we're up 13-10 against the Vikings at half time... in the second half, we get our butts kicked....

0-2 so far and things don't look promising !!  Sad

The Lions lost.... I guess we all knew that was coming. They now have lost 19 games in a row. Next Sunday doesn't look much better. Oh, well that is one of the tough breaks when you live in the D.

Wow... that isn't right. Giving up leads and blowing games, leave that to the Pittsburgh Pirates! They do that better than any team in any sport pretty much...

Just curious, what is the record for longest losing streak? I know NE holds the record for longest winning streak at 21 consecutive wins...

Well, that is a bit reassuring for the defense, I must say. Then again, it's LeBeau for cryin' out loud. I think he'd be forced to retire if he ever let more than 1 or 2 offensive units come in and walk all over them...

True to both. Rivers was getting pressured way too much, but against the 2nd strongest defense of last year, he torched them for 436 yards in the air! If the O-line can get it together despite the injuries, I think the Chargers could be unstoppable...

The 1976 and 1977 Tampa Bay Buccaneers hold that record at 26 loses.

Back then the season was 14 games and the Tampa Bay Bucs lost all 14 games in the 1976 season. The then lost 12 games in a row in the 1977 season. Tampa Bay did win its last two games of the 1977 season.

I remember watching "The Top Ten" on NFL Network the one time (or more like the "bottom ten," considering it was the worst teams), and the '76 Buccaneers were at the top of it for their winless debut season.

So, if the Lions lose 9 more games, they'll tie that dubious record of futility...

We'll see how they do against my team, the so-called defending champs, in 2 weeks. AT least they have one silver lining, they won't have to contend with a long-haired freak who wears a #43 jersee...

I really hate to say it, but that was really a blessing in disguise for us. Still, if the Ravens were any indication (and depending what we look like against Miami this week), your linemen will walk all over us like Jesus walked on water.

They're last win was Week 16 in 2007, against the Chiefs, 25-20. The Lions have now lost 19 games in a row.

I'm still pumped from my Bengals upseting the Packers on the road in Green Bay and then my Giants beating the Cowboys on the road in "Jerry World".  biggrin

Oh... Heh, for some reason I thought it was 7 and I thought it was a counting error. Apparently, 7 more consecutive losses is the magic number, black magic I guess I should say, for the Lions...

Sorry Lions fans... Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I am a Pirates fan!! At the rate they're going and where they're going, I'll be in a wheelchair when they register another winning season!!

That's what I'm pumped about! I fricking hate the Cowboys!!

Now, about the Bengals/Steelers matchup this weekend. You know what they're saying in the PG? They're saying that the offense pretty much has no identity. The last time people made such remarks was back in 2003. The Steelers record then: 6 - 10. God! I hope that doesn't happen this year! I'll build a bomb shelter if it does! What team mounts a 12-4 season against a very tough group of opponents to win a Super Bowl only to go 6-10 against a weaker schedule? Do tell!!
