Ok we all know that each Forumul One driver is allowed a maximum of 8 engines for the season, and many are nearing their limits. After that, it's a 10 spot grid penalty for using an additional engine. But there is still 4 races left this season, including this weekend's Singapore round.
So here's my question. Out of the 20 car grid, what happens if say 14 cars use up their engine allowance and need a 10 spot penalty. The first 6 are easy, because those would be the cars without penalty. But who gets sports 7, 8, 9, & 10 on the grid, because even if a 9th engined car won the provisional pole time, the best it could / should start is 11th place. How will F1 decide this and grid the field?

The thing you have to remember is that not all engines have been used to capacity. I'm guessing the people that have Mercedes engines will not have used each engine to its death. Be mindful of that.
