When Tony Arambula managed to corner an armed intruder in his son's bedroom he expected police to come to his aid. Tony Arambula screams for help while 911 call keeps recording.
Instead, a Phoenix police officer confused Arambula for the intruder and shot him six times before realizing his mistake, a moment captured on the 911 call with a simple "Fuck."
Even after realizing their mistake, Arambula said he was treated roughly, being dragged out of the house and transported briefly on the hood of a police car.
Now Arambula, 35, who survived but faces a lifetime of pain, is suing the city of Phoenix and the officers who responded to his house that night.
This would be funny if it were fictional. Unfortunately, it's not. There were so many tactical errors made, not to mention common sense errors, they should just give the guy a signed blank check and politely ask him not to use too many zero's when he fills in the amount. First the cops shoot the wrong guy, then they're recorded on an open 9-1-1 line admitting they fucked up and then they're heard plotting a cover up. And no one gets disciplined over it. Beautiful.
