I was wondering, will Microsoft introduce a Windows Vista Service Pack 3 sometime next year? I know, some will argue that Windows 7 is Vista SP3, however, it isn't a free upgrade for Vista users.
I know that XP SP3 was introduced after Vista was released. Perhaps Vista might get one final service pack sometime next year. Maybe Microsoft might use some Windows 7 technlogies to speed up Vista a bit.

Hard to say and unclear so far. I won't bet any money on it. Hot fixes will come for sure but I have my share of doubt as for another SP. Look at Windows Server 2003: SP counter is still locked at #2. Vista is now pretty much stable even it is somewhat flawed by design. Windows Server 2008 was built over Vista SP1 kernel and was then updated to SP2.
An upgrade to 7 is a good suggestion if you could afford it, and if you NEED it for some reason. My brand new HP is on 7, but I will probably stay under Vista SP2 on my HP and Asus laptops
