Do You Dip?

Inspired by an old thread in which at one point in my life I lambasted dipping (until I ended up getting hooked on the crap myself), I was just wondering if there are some dippers out there among my fellow a.netters? My standard is Kodiak Wintergreen, and if I can't get my hands on any of that then Grizzly Wintergreen is the way to go.

Hah yeah I've heard that from a lot of people. There are a lot of different brands out there and they all taste very different. When I first started I was on the Skoal Wintergreen train but began to realize after a while there were other brands out there that tasted a lot better. I think my peak moment was when I convinced a good friend of mine to try it once and the lasagna we had for dinner ended up all over the parking lot of a mall. Good times.

Yep. The few, the proud, the snuffers.

The biggest secret on earth is that oral tobacco is 80-90% safer than cigarettes (cue people missing jaws).

Dips of choice:

1. Skoal Citrus Blend
2. Skoal Apple Blend
3. Skoal Mint
4. Copenhagen Wintergreen (this is an airport specialty when you're all out)

What kind of non-sense bullcrap information is that?

Dipping is just plain disgusting.

Do they have smokeless tobacco in Korea? Besides in the U.S. bases?

Possibly debatable. Even so mouth cancers are really gross and chew is more likely to give you one of those. My Mom was an oncology nurse said that the face rots away and the oral cancers stink. I don't smoke either but I'd rather rot from the inside with a lung cancer.

EWWWWW

I think that chewing tobacco's are more addictive. I watched my friend get hooked in less than a week.

I love transporting military pax. They would be dream passengers if they didn't always try to hand us their spit cans and bottles. Um no that is biohazard lav trash only and no thanks exchange of bodily fluids is by mutual consent only.

So many times I've been stitting on that L3 jumpseat with a cute marine or soldier sitting in the exit row across from me and I think mmm yummy until they whip out that spit cup or smile a chewy grin at me... instant turn off.

It's called "harm reduction" for those who don't have a psych book in front of them.

I go to the dentist every three months and see my doctor every six. He told me to cut it, but also said, "I'd rather have you snuffing than smoking."

Hey old friend, long time no type! You can get it on any military installation...the Class Six and the PX are your best friends haha.

As for some of the other comments, yes its not the most attractive habit by far. It's pretty addictive, I've tried to quit a couple of times and just cant shake it. One of these days I'll get the motivation to be through with it.

C'mon Superfly, tell me how many chicks you've kicked out of your House Of Love because they sucked down some Marlboros or Parliaments? Not many. I thought so. The same tobacco fields you express your disgust at through spit tobacco, produced the same the same cigarettes your barely legal gal sucks down in her Camel Light.

It's no different an addiction than sucking down a pack of Marlboro Lights. Except that my breath is better.

Women smoking cigarettes is a total turn off.

I never dip, especially since I work in a cancer prevention lab which frequently analyzes the contents of carcinogens in these products.

However, I must admit that the smell of some of these products is awesome. I think Camel has a few products (Snus, I believe - is that still considered "dipping?") that makes your mouth water!

My roommates from last year dip and it's totally disgusting. They used to leave their dip spit bottles all over the house, and even spilled them on my couch! I must have refused about 500 times from using dip, and will never do it. I hate smoking cigarettes. The only tobacco product I actually like to use is smoking Hookah. My girlfriend got an Hookah in Egypt 2 years ago, and we finally replaced a broken part last week and got that up and running. I do enjoy it on the weekends.

Suppose you had a habit of playing Russian Roulette. Smoking is like playing with 5 out of 6 chambers loaded. Dipping is like playing with 1 out of 6 loaded.

Regardless of the number of chambers you've loaded, you're best off not to play Russian Roulette at all!
