Hi all!

It seems that Airbus is sending an A380 for tests to ZRH at January 20th + 21th 2010!!!
Airport Zurich plans even special visitor activities.
I think this would be a nice opportunity to meet and greet?

We could just meet and see what ZRH airport authority is offering. Details are not published yet.
Here a link (sorry this one is only German so far)

A shame this is a Wednesday and a Thursday. But maybe some of you guys might come by anyway?

Greets,
Patrick

I might join, but it's unlikely. First, it's not on a week end, second I do live now in Canada. But if I could, I would, that's for sure!

I will by the way be glad to see you there. Thanks for the post, always on the edge with ZRH events, cool  Wink

Hi Patrick,
Thanks for the info.
with those dates not being a weekend, it is quite unlikely I will come to ZRH - and also after having watched F-WWOW landing in roughly 4000 ft at BRE this summer, any taxing trials and the likes probably will not justify the effort for me to come to ZRH.

It is even quite likely that I will take my parents onto vacation in Portugal during the dates in concern ...

Will this be a Airbus 380 or will they send a Singapore 380 doing airport trials?
I vote for the second choice but who knows?

I hope to be on the first Singapore 380 commercial flight to ZRH
if it was during Singapore Air Show time it would be even better so I can get two for the price of one!  airplane   cheerful

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

I think Airbus might bring in a company A380, one of the left prototypes.
In any regard, I'll contact Singapore Airlines Switzerland to get a bit more info's. The same goes for Zurich Airport Authority.  chat

@ HT

This might be the main problem: The tests will be done on weekdays. Anyway, there will be other occasions to meet again.  bouncy

That's the problem. I would really like to come to ZRH but I have to work on these days since I have days off between Christmas and New Year.

I hope so. Count me in if there is another ZRH meeting next summer (and help me then to get a DUS-ZRH flight without these nasty ARJs! Big grin ).

Aside than understanding that the aircraft will be staying at ZRH for 24 hours I still don't get it from the article if it will be a Singapore Airlines Big Bus or an Airbus testing aircraft flown by Airbus test pilots.  Confused  Yeah sure

Also I wonder how soon after these tests Singapore Airlines will do their first Singapore to Zurich A380 commercial flight. The Singapore Air Show is the first week of February 2010 so it would be nice if they had the flight at the same time. Singapore Air Show attendees could fly back on the SQ 380 to Zurich.  airplane   cheerful

Patrick,
I will be there for sure, I'll take a day off from work. But it will only be 1 day for me - I have yet to decide if it will be the 20th or the 21st. It depends on the schedule ZRH airport will publish.

Hi Manu!
Will be the same for me. If you hear some more info's in the Swiss medias, could you post it here?
I'll get in contact with Mr. Loosli from Zurich Airport. Let's see if he could do for us a favor!  Wink

I bet it will be very nice to see the Airbus company A-380 performing tests in ZRH. Hope they carry out not only one landing and one take of.

Lets see. I'm very excited.  bouncy

Depending which test pilots will be taking the A380 to ZRH to perform the different tests at the airport I will definitely try and be there when The Bus arrives and will stay the whole time the a/c is there.

I will update the thread with any valuable information I receive from TLS.  airplane

It was always said in all articles since weeks that the aircraft is allocated by Airbus. So it is not an SIN aircraft.

Great news for Zurich,  Wow!  champagne  maybe i will take a day off the work and come see this great plane. (hopefully F-WWOW)

Depends on the program each day. Sad it doesn't come around the 18' (my birthday) and F-WWOW rollout at 2005.

Thanks for the topic and info.
