I am so old.

I don't recognize a one of those titles or artists.

However, the Grammy nominations concert was playing in the background last week, and there was a song that seemed to go "I got a feeling/That tonight's gonna be a good night..."

I kinda liked that song.

(Most of what I listen to the rest of the time is either 80's music, or...Broadway. Yep, Generation X is getting that old...)

Pancakes are delicious.

Man, I'm the Numba 1 fan Big grin
I'm also very much fond of remixes - luckily they do turn a completely boring and blunt piece into a dance anthem  bouncy

There are so many I can recommend, though I can't be sure my taste will suite you. So, a few newish ones I'm quite into at the moment:
Wilder & Clarke - Stand Up [Dennis Christopher]
Madonna - Revolver [David Guetta One Love]
Junior Caldera feat. Billy Bryan - What You Get
Depeche Mode - Perfect [Ralphi Rosario & Jody den Broeder]
Deepswing - In The Music 2010 [Adam K & Soha Vocal]
Anthony Louis & Paolo Pellegrino feat. Sara Luh - Rocking
Aeronautics - This Way
Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren - Beggin' You [Armin van Buuren]
Armin van Buuren feat. VanVelzen - Broken Tonight
Soulshaker feat. Kathrine Ellis - Time To Play
Morandi - Colors
David Guetta feat. Estelle - One Love
Lee Cabrera vs. Thomas Gold & Tara McDonald - Shake It (Move A Little Closer) [Terrace Vocal]
Henry John Morgan feat. Juliet - California's Dream
Dash Berlin feat. Emma Hewitt - Waiting
Bloom 06 - Beats & Sweat
Serge Devant feat. Emma Hewitt - Take Me With You [Easy Way Out]
Kurd Maverick & Sam Obernik - Love Emergency
Bad Boy Bill feat. Alyssa Palmer - Do What U Like [Dave Aude]
Ricky Rinaldi feat. Michelle - Your Loving Arms
Morgan Page - Fight For You

There was a point in time where I really liked this sort of stuff. I still do but mainly listen to rock now (talk about opposites huh? Big grin )

I like some of Tiesto's work. Also Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, and some other obscure artists.

The last song to give me serious chills down my spine was this downtempo version of As the Rush Comes:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb61AVsxD34

The original is pretty damn good too:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oBRgXtyKeE

I also like bands like TATU, Pendulum and The Bravery. They mix a lot of electronic stuff with rock.

Thanks for starting this topic, because I have an awesome site to share with you!
I went to Coachella back in 2004 and stayed inside the electronic music tent most of the time, and the last to perform was The Crystal Method. They were awesome! Anyways, beforehand a few DJs were on stage and were spectacular, too. Here were a few:
Donald Glaude
Adam Freeland
Ferry Corsten
Hybrid
and a few others.
Hybrid was awesome, so I went to check them out when I got home, and stumbled upon this page, and my life has changed forever since.....
http://www.hybridized.org/
I know have hours and hours of free music that cannot be beat! The DJs put their sets up on this website, and it actually works as a promotional deal. I had never heard of a lot of the people on there, but then I listened to Jody Wisternoff from Way Out West and he is my favorite DJ/composer. I went and saw him almost 2 years ago in Chicago at a club.

Here are my favorite from that website
Jody Wisternoff
Nick Warren
Way Out West (Jody and Nick together)
Hybrid

Let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy it.

I started picking up on electronic music when I was like 15-16, pretty much helped by the fact that Kraftwerk performed at my local music festival.

My preference is still groups that 'performs' the music live, rather than just spinning records or hiding behind laptops, so stuff like:
Kraftwerk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcbmtP_Frd8
Underworld http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1JF1W_i0-I
Leftfield http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brqj_UL8Xsc (part 1 of 5)
Orbital http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gd-QkRA8Ik
etc are right up my alley.

As of late I've taken a turn towards ambient and chillout music, so stuff like
Boards of Canada http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7bKe_Zgk4o
Brian Eno http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJBxva-NyiI
The KLF http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyCX6mhwBTA (part 1 of 5)
The Orb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9yg8LH0fb4
is what's filling my playlist these days.

Also, for some reason I just can't help putting on PPK's ResuRection ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipE9QFiWhzQ ) on occasionally, since that reminds of the good old days of searching through all sorts of tunes on mp3.com trying to find some interesting groups.

I'm a big House head. Dj's Steve Lawler and Dj Porter being my favorites.

I can't really say why I love House soo much. I've often told my friends that with pop, rock or hip-hop the song is what the artist whats it to be. However with House/trance or electronica the song becomes what you make it.

I've always found it interesting that quite a few house or trance artists use aviation related images on their CD's or projections during their shows.

Every time I see one of them coming I try to plan a trip down but it never works out with my schedule, but hopefully some day I'll find some time to go see them.

I'm not a big fan of most mainstream dance music, used to rather like Tiesto but thought his sound back in '98-'01 was a lot better than now. Have heard his 'In Search Of Sunrise' series is meant to be worth checking out but haven't done so yet,

Some of my favourite producers: Jay Lumen, Snake Sedrick, Eelke Kleijn, Jaytech, MatZo, Arthur Deep, Michael & Levan, Way Out West, Embliss, Dousk, William Orbit...

I'm more into dance music that you can't really dance to, doesn't make much sense but that's the way it is! Here's an exceptional example of the kind of thing I'm talking about. 77minutes of pure audio pleasure:
Jack Moss - Regressive House
1. Vito & Dewald - Glistening Heaven (Michael & Levan Remix)
2. Pole Folder - Mona Kea (Human Adams Remix)
3. Pablo Acenso - Lost In A Pattern (Dave Ferol & Arion Grey Mix)
4. Sean McClellen - Desperate Measures (Embliss Remix)
5. Nu Frequency Feat. Shara Nelson - Go That Deep (Redanka's 93 Vocal Mix)
6. Oceanlab - On A Good Day (16 Bit Lolitas Remix)
7. Mikas - Echoes (Album Mix)
8. Jaytech - Metro
9. M83 - Couleurs (Sasha Invol2ver Remix)
10. Domased Electronica - Mermaid
11. Uriel - Fieldox
12. Chris Drifter & Ronyo - Disconnected Illusions (Aeron Aether Remix)

I'd reccomend these. I've got Vol. 4 thru to 7. Love listening to them, remind me so much of summer.

I also like Deadmau5 but his stuff is becoming a bit more mainstream in the UK.

Anyone a fan of the Swedish House Mafia?

Such a simple song! but it takes so long to build up, and then it just wows you. So much power. So much bass. I love it!

I would recommend:
Wippenberg: Chakalaka. Weird song. But its great.
W&W: The Plan (Leon Bolier Remix)
Armin van Buuren: Never Say Never. Good lyrics.
ATB: Ecstasy, Just a good song.

And for those of you who have never experienced the Amazing Barry Jay.
Listen to:
Barry Jay: Sky. (I think its on last.fm)
The most eargasmic song I have ever had the pleasure of blaring through my cars Bose Stereo.  Big grin
