The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series had their end of season banquet at Las Vegas. I have been watching on and off all night the replay on SpeedTV. My question is, why did they have it Las Vegas and not Charlotte? I mean Las Vegas is glittery and fancy, but the heart of NASCAR is in the Charlotte/Concord area! They have had it in New York City in past years. Do the people in Charlotte and all of North Carolina feel slighted in anyway? I am (by no means) not a big fan of NASCAR, I will watch it when there is a race on but I really don't follow it like I used to follow Formula One, but this would be like having an end of season banquet for the Indy Racing League in Houston, Miami or Los Angeles (no offense to those cities, they just popped in my mind to use as examples). Thoughts would be appreciated. I did a search and could not find a thread on this banquet.
BTW, I do respect Rick Hendrick and congratulations to him, all four of his teams and his "family."
