Few folks have not heard of the timeless classics of Hal Roach's Little Rascals. The series ran from the late 1920s until the mid 1940's. That series has arguably been the one that has stood the test of time the best. Now a lifetime after they first came out, they are still just as popular as ever, even if tey aren't seen on TV anymore.
So what do you think of them? Who is your favorite character(s)? What was your favorite episode? Any guesses why they were taken off the air? Anyone have any information on what became of them? How many (if any) of them are still alive an how they looked as adults?
My favorite episodes are:
Free Wheeling, Divot Diggers, and Birthday Blues
Free wheeling of course is the one where they have the "taxi" that is pushed by a mangy mule. It drinks a bottle of alcohol, and gets drunk. The kids tie their "taxi" to the back of a pickup truck, get pulled up over a hill, and the rest is history.
Divot Diggers of course is the one where the kids ct as caddies on a snobby golf course. How about that plump and floppy chimpanzee that makes the funny noises and breaks the old fat mans clubs?
Finally birthday blues. Who can forget the giant block cake that Stymie baked and the priceless sound it makes when it rises up and down? How about those "prizes" that get harvested from that cake? A brush...a pipe...a bar of soap...a hot water bottle....a mousetrap...
a classic episode.
