I believe the letter is a forgery, from the opposition likely to try and motivate the protestors (who are facing violent crack-downs).

But I might be wrong.

Hmm... some of the above was true.
Khamenei is still in Tehran I guess but the two opposition leaders did flee away from the Capital.
Several days later the same info comes out in the UK papers.

Iran leaders 'flee Tehran' as government mobs threaten death
The leaders of Iran pro-democracy movement were reported to have fled Tehran for their own safety tonight after violent threats were unleashed at mass rallies.

If they really wanted to fight the theocratic regime, they should have stayed not gone.  Wow!

You can't fight anyone if you are dead. Better to go, stay alive, have time to regroup.

I'm a member of some Iranian democracy groups on Facebook and I've heard these rumours; I think they have been put around by both sides, to discredit the other. Textbook stuff, I guess.

I'm just imagining a telephone call ...

"Boss, it's Hugo".

"Hugo who?"

"No, Hu called this morning; this is Hugo from Caracas."

"Bloody hell, not that windbag ... what does he want."

"Well, it was actually a crank call from Mousavi ... Hugo your way, we'll go ours, now and forever, till the end of time ... and you won't matter anymore."

Good advice, it's getting really bad there. Probably the best thing he could have done.

I am very wary of what the main stream media is reporting and telling us.
The same with PressTV and other Iranian sites.
Ptopaganda strikes hard on both sides.
Just being cautious.

Just go to liveleak and the other video sites. The Iranian police are killing protestors and going out of their way to squash the dissention. You don't need mainstream media to tell you that.
