Just one year, in 1994. And then he did his "special" to secure the title.

The Benetton B194 had a Ford-Zetec V8 engine which wasn't as powerful, nor had the same pedigree, as the Renault V10 in the Williams FW16, but what gave the B194 the upper hand was the fact that the FW16 was not an easy car to set up and Senna was complaining a bit before his fatal crash, and by the time Williams introduced the FW16B (incorporating regulation changes and improvements), Schumacher was too far ahead, and if it wasn't for his two race ban, Schumi may well have won that title at Jerez or Suzuka.

The B194 was an easier car to drive than the FW16, but I always felt that the fact it had a V8 engine instead of the V10 meant the FW16, had it not been for the first version being a lemon, would have had the edge.

The B195 and the FW17 was more equal as both cars had the same Renault V10 engine, but it had been suggested that the B195 wasn't as good to drive as the FW17. Not that it mattered though as Schumacher won the title fair and square that season.

So if you ask me, both Benetton's were not the best cars on the grid, and in these two instances it was clearly Schumacher's skill that steered him to success.

I also think that the F2003-GA wasn't exactly brilliant due to the car's tendency to eat tyres, and Schumacher only won the title by 2 points that year.

The best car Schumacher had to win the title was the Ferrari F2002. Both Schumacher and Barrichello wiped the floor with the opposition that year. That said, my personal favourite is the F2001.

I discovered this very nice video of Kamui Kobayashi. You get to meet the new F1 recruit. He is talking about his coming to F1 GP driving all in very good English. You even get a cooking lesson with KK making his own Japanese Tapas recipe 3* chef style. All in all a very nice and fun video.

I paid about $450 SGD for stand tickets at Singapore and about $400 AUD for stand tickets at Melbourne a few years back, and they were both at the cheaper end. So yeah, $475USD is probably about right.

 Yeah sure

I prefer to go to Le Mans, where you buy your ticket €50 for the whole week: the two qualifying sessions on Wednesday and Tuesday, the pit walk on Friday and the race on Saturday and Sunday.

I honestly don't know when I am going to see a F1 race again. This is way too expensive.

This is way too expensive.

It is also quite frequent that those with invitations are selling them through some famous auction sites on the internet. Not only for the Monaco GP but for all of them during the whole season, every year.

You think they are selling you tickets and you end up buying invitations at same cost as the current grand stand prices so it is 100% profit for the sellers.

These are generally sold when the grandstands are sold out so they do quite well on their sales. There are always last minute buyers with the ££$$.

Reselling business is big, same with all sports or even concert tickets.

They've got a bit more experience than a driver with an over inflated bank balance propped up by daddys company. Lotus might not achieve success in a big way with them, but they sure will help with the development of the car. The same could be said for Toyota who went down the path of Alan McNish and Mika Salo and look how that turned out.

Exactly  checkmark   checkmark

I don't think they are looking for victory this year. They are more trying to take their marks and develop their structure. They need drivers who know well how a Formula 1 works, so they can fine tune their development. A rookie might be quick, but he won't be able to give as much information about the car as these two. And having drivers who drove for teams like Renault and McLaren can be very useful.

It's a tough call of which car was the most dominant- the F2002 or the F2004, both basically blew every other car out of the water. I'd even say that these 2 cars were the best cars of all time, considering the competition. The 1988 Mclaren obviously had a better record, winning every race minus the '88 Monza event when Senna screwed up and handed the win to Ferrari, but at that point Mclaren were really head and shoulders above the rest of the grid in terms of professionalism and money invested by Honda/Marlboro. They also had access to an engine that was lightyears better than any other turbo powerplant (the Ferrari V6 was close in power, but the Honda was more reliable and better on fuel economy which allowed the engine to run closer to the maximum allowed boost during a full race distance), and many good teams like Williams were using '88 as a throwaway year to test normally aspirated powerplants in peperation for 1989.
In 2002 and 2004, Ferrari certainly spent tons of money, but they were competing against teams/manufacturers like Renault, Mclaren-Mercedes, Toyota, and Williams-BMW who were also spending stratospheric amounts and running to the same basic rules that had been in effect for years. In view of the level of competition, I think that makes the 2002 and 2004 cars stand out even among cars like the '88 Mclaren and 1952 Ferrari, which won every race but one in 2 seasons against a very weak field run to Formula 2 rules.
As for my personal favorite from the schumacher/brawn dominance era- the F1 2000 was always my pick for an elegant and attractive design (within the limits of the rules, of course... the 1990/91 cars were much prettier).

Credit where Credit's due...He's been in F1 for 3 years now and yes he's not very good...but I do think he's a better driver coming out of McLaren. He's about as good if not better then Timo Glock I'd say, and they both started at the same time....Timo says he's the greatest driver in the world, at least Heikki's being realistic.

I don't think they're aiming to be the best in the world....(at the moment)...but Tony Fernandes (Air Asia CEO) and S. Richard Branson are at each other's throats competing to be 'the best of the new teams'

when it comes down to it...you have Timo Glock/Lucas Di Grassi (Virgin Racing)....Vs...Trulli/Kovalainen (Lotus)...I think there's a clear winner. Lotus 1 - 0 Virgin

I wonder what Lotus' Livery will be. One one had I could see the car looking like an Air Asia plane (similar to Super Aguri) or Malaysia colours but on the other hand..It's Lotus and their logo is Green and Yellow.

I have heard this Nicole Scherzinger break-up with Hammy several times already the last time being the Singapore GP and they got back together. Let's see what will happen this time. We will find out soon when the season starts we will see if she hangs out around the racing tracks or not.

I would be really happy to see Taku racing again. This would truly be a gift for the next season! Maybe Santa Claus is coming to me late.

Kamui is a treat. Taku and Kamui would be a double treat and a good excuse for me to go to GPs other than Monaco in 2010.  yes

I hope Pedro de la Rosa will be given a seat. He is really worthy of it and he is so... wow good looking... but i digress...

No Kimi + One Kamui + One Hammy = makes me very happy!
One Taku back on the racing tracks in 2010 = fantastic news!

Now something even more fantastic would be an annoucement that the Aguris are back but i may have to wait another year for that.

How am I going to manage this now?
Better have 3 drivers to cheer than none!  laughing
