They seem too good to be true. All those lovely Russian and Asian hottie women all seeking friendship, love and marriage. Are the majority scams? I've read about the come on where
whoever or whatever is on the other end is fishing for money. And, in many cases the girl pictured doesn't even know she's becoming a hot commodity for Internet dating.
Basically, you answer a Craig's List add, or join one of those foreign dating sites. You hit it off with a hottie (hottie picture) and it's like love at first sight. Then, they angle in they want to be together with you always but, they need to get to the US or other nation that is not their own.
Of course this takes sponsorship meaning she needs money for visas, passports and plane tickets. Of course, she wants you to blindly send money to a fictitious travel agency and or wire money via Western Union. Sorry to be so skeptical but are there any success stories out there? This too good to be true racket is quite unfortunate.

One word ''VISA'' ! Thats all most are after. There are a small % of genuine ones but a huge % of ones looking for a better life and residency and are willing to sell themselves to do it.

Then again whos to say that an older Man seeking company and a girl seeking a better life cant make a decent companionship. As long as they are honest with eachother from the start.

On the flip side If two people really genuinely like eachother then money shouldn't be an issue.

Very good points; however, many of the scammers are not even the women who's pictures are posted. It could be you, me or anyone behind that computer scamming for the money. There have been stories of men grabbing pictures of hot women and posting them and placing an add then they want you to show them the money.

I met my girlfriend on a niche dating site. It happened that we were both not actively looking for a relationship, and just signed up with free accounts to try it out for the sake of curiosity/boredom, coming across each other quite by accident and through a series of coincidences and perfect timings which couldn't be replicated again if we tried. After four or five months of casually chatting online about nothing in particular, then by phone, we met as friends and both decided that there was a lot more to be had. A year and a half later and we're still together, sure there's been a couple of ups and downs along the way, but nothing we haven't resolved without growing closer.

Thats the way it should be, work it out rather than just give up and walk away.

True thats the reason why its best to meet people on websites then take it to MSN and have lots of video calls and get a feel for what the person is like.

Meeting people online can be very positive though as Dan has said. I have the same experiences myself. Id never meet anyone though until I felt totally comfortable and safe. My current partner I met online and it was him that sent me a message. A few emails/chats later we seemed to click and like the same things/same ideas and views etc.. so I let it run. Early days but we both want to spend our time off together and see what happens.

I wouldn't think of them as "dating" sites, it's more girls looking for a free ride out of Dnipropetrovsk in exchange for...other commodities. Maybe.

Interesting! Back in November, I signed up for one month with a Thai dating site. I hooked up with one girl online I Ming at that site's local online instant messanging. She wanted me to switch to Yahoo chat. It seems this is one of the scammer's ploys to get you away from the actual dating sight. I guess, so they can terminate their membership. And, I guess it's harder to trace people on Yahoo or AOL chat or the other free ones. I did read about that ploy on one of the anti-scam advice blogs/websites.

Ooo.  Wink Seems reasonable you'd have much more luck on a common-interest site like that (with favorable girl/boy ratios) than a site that tries to attract lonely Western men (of which there are a blue million).

And, I'm hoping that the proliferation of Facebook and Twitter to name a few of the social networking sites will put a severe dent into those dating scam flim flammers.

Absoloutely, about the only interest we don't share is flying - she hates it, but I'm converting her slowly Big grin

I went to the Philippines once and was bemused at the number of old guys with 18-30 year old wives. There was no attmosphere between them, you could see both were in it for their own gains; sex and money, but I suppose it works for some.

The old guys were plain pooped out from the extreme heat and humidity. And, the women probably have been pounded and infused at both ends. A lot of the women are petite and hard bodied whereas the older fellows have a little jelly belly and junk in their trunk and, even if you are a lithe limber Asian hottie with a body made for you know what, eventually the physical wear and tear of 200 pounds and higher on top of you will do that to you. Therfore both are too tired until said older gentleman is ready to infuse his manhood and the cycle repeats itself. I wonder what its like for both of them; would love to hear some stories. BTW, how did the 18-30 year old women look and dress? I'm hoping as little clothing on them as possible. I worked with a girl from the Phillipines who used to be a secretary and she and her co-workers wore shorts to work due to the hot weather. She would be typing away at her IBM typewriter (about 20 years ago) and could kick off her sandals. And, this was a medical office I believe.

Very little to be honest. And yes I do know exactly what you mean about the size difference, virtually half the height in some cases.

I'm hoping they tend toward those first two. The third one I'll leave for Superfly.

I imagine them on the streets wearing short little denim miniskirts and denim shorts with flip flops showing their pretty little feet. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have heard that a considerable amount of them aren't woman to begin with. HEHE but that is another thread.. Big grin

But guys, you know my grandmother always sad, each mouse has it's cheese preference. So you know whatever floats your boat.

RE: online sites, it seems as though it is way easier to find someone online in special interests sites or homosexual sites. My best friend, has met just about all his guys on sites (pleasant chaps too). I have only met one girl online and it was in the days of hi5 popularity. HAHA

Now how did my name get dragged in to such a thread?
The lady on the far right looks to old & skinny and has too much makeup.
I like the smiling princess on the left wearing black & white.  yes

That site looks like a total scam, just as other dating sites.
I've never used such services because I am good looking and God's gift to women.  yes
That is the attitude you have to have with the ladies. They love a man with confidence and balls!

Young hot wife with little communication = fewer arguments.
Sounds like the perfect wife!

Which is awesome!
It's good to know that 30+ years from now, I'll still be able to get some young hot babes.
Don't knock these couples. Both are getting what they want.
Just because a man gets old doesn't mean that his taste in women get old.
