Wow! Talk about some upsets last week. Jets over Bengals, Ravens over Patriots, Cowboys over Eagles, and of course, one of the best playoff games I've seen yet, Cardinals over Packers. So on to this week's showdowns!

Ravens @ Colts (CBS SAT 8:15 ET)
Jets @ Chargers (CBS SUN 4:40 ET)
Cowboys @ Vikings (FOX SUN 1:00 ET)
Cardinals @ Saints (FOX SAT 4:30 ET)

My picks:

Colts (As much as I want the Ravens to win.)
Chargers (We haven't forgotten 2004 playoffs buddy)
Cowboys (I think the boys have a legit shot, they've looked good)
Cardinals (The Saints were in decline for the last 3 weeks)

Opinions?

It's kind of a win-win for the Chargers (provided they beat the Jets, which I think is over 95% likely) because if the Colts win, the Chargers aren't scared to play them in their house, and if the Ravens win, the Chargers get to host the AFCCG for the first time since 1980.

Colts--Manning and company will shred the Baltimore Secondary.
Chargers-- Jets won't be able to compere with the San Diego Offense and Defense
Vikings-- Dallas can't handle the vikings D and O. Mind you they handled Philly very well, but with Favre, Harvin, Rice and Peterson the Vikings are much better offensively than Philly was.

Saints--- Arizona had an air war with Green Bay. The Vikes Shut down GB both times this season. Same will happen this weekend to Airizona's O.

Having the Jets beat the chargers , and or Baltimore beating the colts would actually work our better for me in fantasy football, but this year is one where the favorities and higher seeds will probably win because they are that much better.

With the Steelers and New England gone from the playoffs this season, this is the Chargers moment to make a NFL statement. The Chargers never had it so good.My predictions of a Cowboy-Charger Super Bowl still could come true. So,here's my next round choices:

Chargers
Ravens(Home field for Chargers, but we beat Indy twice in playoffs)
Cowboys
Saints

Go Chargers!

My predictions:

Ravens vs Colts: The Colts are simply far too superior to Baltimore IMO.
Jets vs Chargers: Phillip Rivers will crush the Jets and Mark Sánchez will go back to what he does best, throw interceptions.  Wink
Cowboys vs Vikings: The Cowboys did that they had to do, throw Michael Vick and the Eagles OUT of the playoffs, now they can go back to losing. Big grin
Cardinals vs Saints: I'm going with the upset. The Saints have been on a steep decline the last three regular season games, plus I now actually hope Kurt Warner gets the chance to retire with another Superbowl ring.

Therefore, the Championship Games will be:

AFC: Chargers vs Colts
NFC: Cardinals vs Vikings

That's what I am thinking as well. Sure, New Orleans has the better record, but they've entered a bit of a tail spin down the stretch. I don't think Romo and crew are going to get past the Vikings defense. Plus, there's Brett Favre...

I actually like the Ravens here...the Colts are simply way too finesse...I mean some of their linemen are wearing towels...the starters haven't played a full game in nearly a month...and their one-dimensional...they can't run the ball...which plays into the Ravens favor...

Ravens have been doing what they need to do to keep the Colts in check. Or they were, until they put up a pathetic effort in their last drive of the half, and let Manning have the ball back with enough time to drive down the field and score.

10-3 would have been manageable for the Ravens. 17-3, not so much.

The problem of the Ravens are the penalties. The game has turned into a penalty bonanza, combined with two fumbles (one on an interception return!).

Well crap, 1 for 1 right now (Colts won, Cardinals loss.) Blowout by the Saints, and penalties galore (go figure) in Indy once again. I really really hope I'm 1 for 2 again at very least tomorrow (that 1 being the Chargers of course.) Ugh, very nervous for tomorrow, yet, can't wait. Big grin

Like I said, Arizona got murdered by the Saints. I guess that bye-week must have done them some good. Too bad for Warner though, but let's move on to further business, and hope the Cowgirls got their asses kicked big time.  Wink

Allen isn't all they have either. The Williams's and Ray Edwards are awesome as well. Romo is a mediocre QB. The key to your team is the running game.

2) When he decided to go and win a Super Bowl with a team I despise, as they abandoned my hometown.

Didn't your hometown technically abandon the team? I mean, if attendance hadn't been an issue the Rams wouldn't have left town....  Wink

You believe that? I think the $120 million cash payment to Georgia had a lot more to do with it. Not to mention the terrible way in which the front office ran the team, resulting in it being a laughing stock and turning interest to the Raiders.

This article is a pretty good one on just how we pulled out all the stops to keep the Rams and how they were greedily stolen.

And yet at the end of the day, it's no different than the plotline to the movie "Major League" - yes, the owner made shady moves that hindered the team, however had attendance not plummetted (and therefore, revenues as well) the team wouldn't have moved.

So ultimately, it's about the fans (revenue) not showing up. The owner's actions are incidental.
