Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? Palin Edition

So, after Palin's first interview with Glenn Beck (as a member of Fox News), I think a lot of us wanted to know where her intelliigence was on a general scale. For the most part, I think she answered the lob balls that Beck was tossing at her right down the heart of the plate fairly well.

But then there are the ones that are so easy and she misses them, which makes you kind of go hmmm. scratchchin .

Beck: Who is your favorite founding father
Palin: Well, ya know eh, ah, um all of them because the came together with so much....
Beck interrupts: Bullcrap, Who is your favorite... giggle giggle...
Palin:There was so much diversity and their diversity came together etc.
So she lollygags around until the magic light bulb pops into her head and she says "and of course they were led by George Washington"

http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201001130039

Now, where have we seen this answer "All of them" before  scratchchin . That's right, the bombshell with Couric, when she asked Palin "What Newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for the job of VP?"
Palin: I've read most of them with a great appreciation for media etc etc.
Couric: Which on specifically, i'm curious to know
Palin: uhhhhh um All of them.

Now, looking at the Beck interview, it was a good answer, but if she has to bounce around and try to think
of her favorite founding father, it almost defeats the point of her answer.

I'm looking forward to more laughs Sarah!  laughing  .

No fear here. Most don't fear her anymore-they stopped fearing her after the interviews in '08 with Charles Gibson and Katie Couric, when she showed she has little between the ears.

She made it to the governorship in Alaska-THEN QUIT. She's a quitter. She was out of her league even then. And, yes, she can be that stupid. She proves it every time she opens her mouth.

Great to look at though.

You most certainly do fear her because if she gains any sort of traction you guys are toast. Which at this point your toast now. All you have is the far left who will vote for Obama's second term. The independents have abandoned him. At this rate if Ted Bundy was alive he could beat him in a general election. Keep up the hate propaganda though. I know it makes you feel good about yourselves.

LOL.. I hope she does run.. I am a independent, I say let her run please. I do not fear her at all, those are your words. The majority of independents do not like her, it has nothing to do with them fearing her. For me I see her as a quitter, she did not finish her term in office as she was elected to do. She is to polarizing and to far right for me and my fellow independent friends .. So you go and keep with that theory that when we talked down about Sarah it is because we fear her. That is so far from the truth!

Wrong. If the electorate are stupid, they are actually more likely to support stupid, simplistic and emotive candidates (I seem to remember a recent president). This is not just an American problem. Western democracy as a whole is on the rocks because, whilst always a fragile, imperfect thing, it had a critical mass of sufficiently educated and moderately astute citizens to maintain the process. This critical mass has dwindled under corporate controlled infotainment over journalism, training over education and, in the US, a mercenary, commercialized campaigning process that leaves no one in congress or the senate free to vote in line with their real convictions. Once the public are either dumbed-down below political competence or so disenfranchised by corporate control of policy, democracy has ceased to operate and then, through our lack of attention, or interest or lack even any attempt to participate in responsible liberty, we will get the candidates and the government we deserve....

Also doesn't change the fact that she has about as good a chance of securing any high office now as John Edwards. Just calling a spade a spade - no hate or fear here.

Quoting NIKV69 (Reply 7):

You most certainly do fear her

NIK, please don't suppose to tell me what I do and don't believe, OK? I laid out my evolution of what I think about Sarah Palin from the time she was named VPOTUS nominee until now. There was fear, because she was a new, fresh, vibrant voice when she first came on the scene, and it looked like McCain had scored a big victory. But like every candidate, people want to know there is substance there, and when I found out there was none-thanks to the interviews I mentioned, I no longer had ANY fear of the woman. None. And I have none today. I think according to her beliefs, she's a decent person, but I also think she has no qualifications to be anywhere near the presidency. And people don't want a QUITTER to be in there, so she's lost all credibility with most people in this nation, most importantly with independents who will consider voting Republican.

But you? You think she's like the Second Coming? She's done nothing to prove that she's qualified at all. And, please, before you start bitching about the President, an overwhelming majority of Americans thought and still do think he's qualified, so don't even go there. He's head and shoulders above Sarah in intelligence and in awareness of what is going on in the world. That's just a non-starater, NIK.

Quoting NIKV69 (Reply 7):
All you have is the far left who will vote for Obama's second term.

Again, it shows how absolutely out-of-touch with reality you are. If that's the case, then why are his approval ratings still around 50%? Are you telling me 50% of voters are far left? We both know that's crap, NIK. The truth is that, right now, the President would beat any GOP hopeful. Could that change? Absolutely. A lot is going to happen in the next 2 years. Anything is possible, but to say he's toast, and that only the "far left" support him is sheer insanity on your part. Again, it just tells me you're so far to the right that you can't even see the center, let alone the far left. Astounding.

We don't need to attack her, AGM. She said these things in this interview. We're just hanging her by her own words. Attacking her, in my view, would be unleashing a broadside without warning, and without provocation. We're just looking at what she herself is saying.

By the way, I'm a person, not just a "liberal". More than just liberals are piling on her here.

Quoting AGM100 (Reply 15):

You must have watched Tina Fey, not Sarah Palin. She held her own against Joe, but the winking and the smirks to the camera were so amateurish as to be laughable. In fact, from that moment on, the GOP ticket never threatened Obama/Biden again.
