I got an email today saying that the person behind the username BCAL (I shall refrain from saying his name), who I kept in touch with via PMs and Facebook and had some good conversations with, has died. Known for his strong anti-Virgin and anti-Branson views - and interestingly he never did get what I meant when I referred to the 'grinning pullover' - he was always good to have a 'through cyberspace' laugh with, and we were going to meet up at some point for a beer.
I thought other people on A.net, who had him in their respected users group or vice-versa or had read his posts, might like to know.

Thank you for passing on the sad news about BCAL
Regardless of what his opinion was, and whether you agreed or disagreed with it, his posts were always well thought out and intelligently written on whatever subject he was discussing.

Quoting Revelation (Reply 3): I too enjoyed his posts and am saddened by his passing.
Just a small reminder that might serve as an in memoriam?

What achievements of the Blair Government? Even if there were some achievements, he committed the country's forces to war before consulting his cabinet, and then gained the support of the opposition and his MPs by lying about the "Weapons of Mass Destruction". He should be tried under war crimes but instead he is hailed as a hero, and never in the history of the UK has a former PM so milked his former office.

As a VS fan myself, we often had disagreements, but his posts were always written in a respectful format, and his opinions were put across professionally.
RIP BCAL, and condolences to his family.
