I encountered one of the most idiotic men I have ever met a few days ago at work:

The facts:
Man meets woman walking down Lake Street (a Minneapolis street infamous for prostitution)
Woman looks "rough"
Woman is supposedly walking to work (I suspect she was walking FOR work)
Man asks woman for directions, Man ends up with woman's phone number
Man and woman go out a few times
Man asks woman to marry him, she accepts
Woman tells man that she needs to go to Miami to handle some family issues
Woman is very evasive about what the family issues are and when she is coming back
Man takes woman to airport
Man buys woman one-way ticket to MIA.
Woman checks EIGHT bags to MIA at a cost of $800, Man pays
Man gives woman his ATM card and pin should she have an emergency

Conclusion:
Everyone at the airport, except for this man, can tell that:
a) he has basically become her ultimate john.
b) She has no plans on ever coming back to Minnesota to marry this man
c) By midnight she will have a new phone number and his bank accounts will be empty
d) The man is an idiot for having that much wool over his eyes regarding this relationship

Shamelessly, one of the DL agents actually hit on him, probably hoping she could get in on some of his stupidity. He declined their advances proclaiming that he was an "engaged" man. IDIOT!

Has anyone else ever met anyone this stupid!

Hurts to watch, but he's an adult. Not your job to protect him from his own stupidity.

If we can relate this scenario to the Titanic sinking (which I think we can) The captain could have seen this iceberg from across the other side of the Atlantic....

I agree! Just because he seems like a good guy, why do people have to call him stupid? He's just in love for whatever reason. If she indeed is trying to trick him, then she is the stupid one here.

If only more people were like him, and less people like her.

This is why people say love is blind, and I agree. Personally, I would have warned him. If he wanted to be ignorant and not listen, then I would have let her rob him blind. Then read the news that he would go on to commit suicide two weeks later by jumping off a bridge. It sounds bad, but if he wants to be that ignorant, why should you go out of your way to help him? Let him get what's coming to him.

Some people are extremely nice to people, and they end up getting taken advantage of. It happened to me, and i've seen it happen to other people. But this is on a whole other level.

Out of fun, I relayed to story to my wife to see her reaction (just for the hell of it)...
As soon as I mentioned Woman tells man that she needs to go to Miami to handle some family issues, she cut me short and said "she's gonna do a runner!"
then...

a) he has basically become her ultimate john. - Her reaction was "idiot"
b) She has no plans on ever coming back to Minnesota to marry this man - Her remark was "she'd probably come back with a couple of gun toting mobsters. (LOL... gotta love that one)
c) By midnight she will have a new phone number and his bank accounts will be empty - Wife's remark was "she probably didn't go to Miami, and jumped off the flight in the last minute. (she doesn't know in the US non-ticketed pax can go all the way to the gate)... so the account could have been emptied the moment the guy left the airport.
d) The man is an idiot for having that much wool over his eyes regarding this relationship - her remark... "serves him right" (now that worries me a bit).

Shamelessly, one of the DL agents actually hit on him, probably hoping she could get in on some of his stupidity. He declined their advances proclaiming that he was an "engaged" man. IDIOT!
Wife remarked, "shameless b****, should have blackmailed the woman instead, or claimed to have been his ex just for fun."

Sometimes I wonder who's from mars... us, or them girls? LOL!
