A friend and i are off to Munich in June for my Birthday and just wondered what the nightlife is like? Its going to be mid week, possibly Wednesday. Where are the good places to go?!
Thanks!

well was there during September 2005 and yes it was crazy, go to the university part of the town, lots of bars and great food around. But September is back to university for students.
But sure there might be a great night live during summer season. Or a local A.net my give more info about this.

I'm a Munich resident for almost 23 years now and thus have partied a lot in this city. So, which kind of nightlife do you prefer (nightclub, bar, restaurant), music taste, audience, ambience?

Bit of everything really. Would be good to end up in a club somewhere having been to a good restaurant! Music taste fairy open about but maybe more 'indie' rather than 'R n B'! Audience i would have to say...youngish!

Munich is a fantastic city, having driven down there from London 4 times in the last year (with another 2 trips planned in the next six months), i really do like the place.
You gotta go to the legendary hofbrauhaus if only for just one beer!

My company's head office is in Munich, so I was there in Janurary this year. I also spent my stag party at the Oktoberfest
Anyway, I agree with the Hofbrauhaus. Mainly just tourists there now, but they do have live traditional music! The Hofbraukeller is the same company, without the music, but the beer and the food is the same
If the weather is good, there's a beer garden in the English Garden!

There's actually a decent Irish bar (= good, non-Americanized Guinness) by the Hilton. You, being from Britain, have access to good Guinness anyhow.
