Gorgeous Saturday morning here in Dallas, Texas. I decide to walk to the local farmer's market with my mother. We are leaving when we hear shouting and police sirens. A guy had just burglarized a house. He then drove his car through this very crowded farmer's market. Somehow made it out without hitting anybody. He then jumps a median and takes off down the alley WITH FOUR POLICE CARS FOLLOWING HIM. He is driving an early 1990s Toyota that has a donut on the back left and his trunk is open. He wrecks a police car at Northlake and Peavy, speeds down, and flips his car over a curb and into a parked car literally around the corner from my house. He then takes off on foot. There were more than a dozen police cars after him and he is in a dead end alley in a neighborhood that only has 5 outs . . . and none of them are anywhere close to him.

Thankfully the cops got this guy and he'll be serving time. Since he hit a police car, not only do they have him on this burglary (and suspicion of six more), they have him for assaulting a police officer, a host of traffic violations, and another assault charge for a second occupied vehicle he wrecked.

The other reason this really pisses me off is that we are a neighborhood of walkers. Even on crummy days you will find dozens of us walking the streets. On the first sunny, seventy degree day we have had in months? I counted more than sixty people walking. And we were only on two streets. Thank god this guy didn't hit anybody, but what he did is beyond reckless.

I am just pissed and needed to vent.

Texan

I have a picture on my phone but have no idea how to get it online. If anybody wants to receive a picture message and post it for me, send me a message (seriously, I am this bad with technology).

Glad that nobody was hurt by this. Could have ended a lot worse with so many peoples taking a walk.

Will be interesting to see the picture.

Thanks Justin.

That is just behind my house (around the corner). The car hit the curb, drove over the inclined part of a driveway, flipped in the air, went through our neighbor's fence, and landed on their car. Their car is behind the crashed car. The guy got out of that car and ran down the alley.

Just be glad you don't live up here, he'd be off with very minimal time served and a very light slap on the wrist .... now that's something to get pissed off about

If your phone and computer use bluetooth, you can send it to your computer via bluetooth.

Anyway, as it happens, I did also witnessed something today. When I passed by the Elbe Einkaufszentrum on the 22 going to Blankenese, there were at least three police cars surrounding a bank nearby (specifically a Haspa aka Hamburger Sparkasse). The police were talking to some guy, but that's all I saw. I guess someone may have tried to do a heist or something, I don't know.
