Anyone heading up to LHR this weekend to shoot some of the weird and wonderful operators that are going to be dropping in to cover for BA during the strike ?.

Might be heading up myself, so could have a last minute mini-meet if anyone else is around.

I might pop down on Saturday. As I am not striking I will go to work
and get sent home as I wont be required.

Should be interesting to see all these weird aeroplanes everywhere!

Never give up..

According to :-

http://www.plane-mad.com/guides.php?guide=LHR

Looks like they will be landing on 27R before 1500 and on 27L after 1500.

I'm out at a concert on Friday night so won't be around until the afternoon on Sat.

So as they will be on 27L from 1500, shall we just say TGM at 1500 ?.

Not that bad outside, im 10 min walk from Myrtle. Apparently there are a lot of spotters out, guess it will be more at 1500 when they switch to 27L landings

Wish I could be there. A bit too far and too late with so little strike notice.
Pictures will be most appreciated.

In the meanwhile the webcam is available to all.

It is in LHR !!.

I'm going to head down shortly although looking at the latest pics on the cam, the weather is no good for pics. Might have to go back tomorrow for that.

At LHR now. Seen a few interesting ones. One thing I would say is the poor show from BA staff - seen about 40 people picketing and that's it!

Reason being there were about 7 or 8 areas of picket lines around and further afield from the LHR
area so I highly doubt you just saw 40 staff unless you saw all the picket lines.

Had I known, I may have tried to find a decent fare for a few hours at LHR.   That being said, there is no real convenient flight and fare for a few hours in London (LH's fare out of HAM are too expensive, and 4U only offers flights to STN via STR, thus the only option would have ironically been BA out of HAM if the fare was right).

Seeing some pickets at Hatton Cross, on the way to TGM, I just thought that they represented less future competition for seats on ID tickets!
(Though I suspect most of them were not due in to work anyway).

Yeah, I'm sure thats probably right, but the facts are that nowhere near the number of those that voted yes actually bothered to tell anyone why.

It wasn't exactly a picket march.

Are all the 380s coming in and going out as normal?
Do they get affected by the strike at all?

Why would they be affected? BA have no 380s.
