Yup ... followed by Mug (haven't seen Fanta or Hires Root Beer for years, but those were good) ... Barq's doesn't even taste like Root Beer to me. Root Beer is supposed to be sweet and creamy.

Quoting LOT767-300ER (Thread starter): Fanta (European Orange/Lemon/Grapefruit etc) - The American one is garbage
I fell in love with European Orange Fanta when I went to Europe (thank God for Club Kitchen) but for some reason I persist in drinking the American version, which isn't bad, but the Euro version is so much better. It tastes more like orange, and not just orange flavored.
Second best cream soda I've had. The best is the local Fitz's brand in St. Louis. That is great stuff, and their root beer is awesome too.
And my favorite around home is chocolate Coke. My hometown has an old style soda shop with different flavorings and chocolate is the best. Everyone else seems to hate it and as far as I know I am the only person in town who gets it, but it is pretty darn good.

That doesnt count, you can get the Euro version here too. In fact I am sipping on a 2 Liter of Lemonic Fanta imported from Poland right now (along with a beer of course). Costs about $3,29 at my local supermarket.
One of the first things I do whenever I visit Greece is purchase a bottle of Fanta Orange and and a bottle of Fanta Lemonade. IMHO, European fanta is the best soft drink on the market. In Greece they make have an additional flavor that was quite good, but I can't recall what it was. Maybe tangerine.

I've had it in Denmark, it's sold in train stations. I bought 6 cans in Buddinge Train Station (For the locals) at something like 10DKK each because I can't get it anywhere else. The cashier did look at me rather strangely
Diet Coke No Caffeine is another - I can't drink the full fat version because it leaves me bouncing off the walls for hours. I've missed entire nights of sleep because I've had 1 can 8 hours before I got into bed. I don't drink a lot of caffeine so it has a very profound effect on me. It does taste more bitter, definitely but it's a small price to pay.

My problem with Mountain Dew is that it reminds me of college. Rather than drink coffee or become addicted to red bull and god knows what else energy drinks, I used Mountain Dew to help keep me up. Blackcurrants were banned from being grown in the US in 1909 because they were the host for the White Pine Blister Rust, which caused a lot of harm in some areas to the timber industry because the pines did not have a genetic resistance to the fungus that causes it. The Federal gov't shifted the responsibility of the ban to the states in 1966, and some states in recent years have lifted the ban.

Mixed in equal quantities. Actually came out quite tasty.
I remember getting those at the snack bar at the skating rink when I was in elementary school.
The closest to that I do now is when I get a fountain drink at somewhere like QuikTrip. I'll mix whatever soda I'm drinking with some vanilla and cherry mixers as well as the energy drink they have on their fountains.
I recently ate at a Wendy's that has one of those new Coca-Cola Freestyle fountain machines, and that is the coolest thing ever. They offer 100 different drink options (not all of them sodas), many of which are rarely seen on regular fountain lineups.
Hello Airplanes? Yeah, it's Blimps. You win, bye....
I wonder why Coke hasn't tried to market Dasani sparkling water here in the US. I had some on when I went to Buenos Aires a few years ago and wondered why they haven't tried to market it to the US and beyond?
They used to in the UK until it was discovered they were (basically) just bottling tap water, coke immediately pulled the plug and it hasn't been seen since.

Quoting N1120A (Reply 75): Pizza Hut? Really? Shocking, since they have been linked to Pepsi since 1977.
Not all Pizza Huts were Pepsico. Ours went the Pepsico way back in the late 80s sometime. I started working there in 90/91 and they still had the Coke machines in the back.

Weird. They are now bound, except for some locations owned by companies like HMSHost, to a lifetime deal.

I don't know all of the already mentioned, but I would definitely go for Pepsi Wild Cherry, 7up, Orangina, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, European Fanta. And also for Fanta Mango.

Well, you can get it from any broken soda fountain. The stuff makes me want to puke though.
Not the same thing.

Was a pretty common thing up here in years past, certain franchise names were owned and operated by different franchise companies. In some cases, even the menu's were quite different. They'd have several trademark items of a certain company but throw in other things that were their own.

I do know that A&W Canada, which is still a decent sized chain compared to what it is in the US now, is a separate company.
That said, the Yum! Brands contract is worldwide and only trumped on very rare occasions.

A few sodas that I'll never pass on.
I've always found though the most consistent soda for me in terms of being satisfying will always be Dr. Pepper. Regular RC though is amazing when it comes in a 2 liter bottle free when you order pizza from a local place in Chicago.

This is a hard one to pick. I would have to go with Dr. Pepper. Well... actually I would go with Mt. Dew. No, I rather go with Dr. Pepper. Hmm... I'm not sure anymore, but it would be that or Mt. Dew.

Any of those Moutain Dews mentioned are good enough for me. I soooo miss Mountain Dew Pitch Black. I wish that would make it again. Another favorite of mine is Moutain Dew Baja Blast from Taco Shits... I mean Bell
