.us Domains

I have been getting on a few websites (this one included) pop-up ads advertising .us domains. I had already seen .us in use, but usually only on official government sites like http://www.state.ma.us, but now they are selling domains publicly with the .us domain. Are these going to start augmenting the .com's with big companies using it. Like, in the future will we see things like http://www.aa.us or http://www.microsoft.us, much like the way we see http://www.lufthansa.de or http://www.britishairways.co.uk? Or will is just become a new domain for private sites like http://www.thejones.us or porn sites like http://www.hotgirlz.us?

I prefer it stay .com

As for porn sites. They should have a special ending like ".xxx" or ".everyteenboygoeshere"
