My buddy served in Fallujah and the only time they were allowed a drink was when they got RnR in Qatar... and even then, they got two drink tickets per day.

Fortunately there is always mail call, and if you are in a unit that does not check mail then you can have alcohol a plenty. I knew plenty of folks who pretty much drank every night the entire deployment.

It depends on your unit, your location and your chain of command. I've personally seen both of the above happen.

Either way, deployment for those who don't know SUCKS. You really need to blow off some steam, and that's one way to do it
