Quoting Superfly (Reply 4): I'd have to respectfully disagree.
Rush in Rio has so much more raw energy and I have never seen such an enthusiastic and spirited Rush concert than the Rio show.
Haha, fair enough. I wasn't talking about the performance, though. I thought the sound quality and video quality was better on the Snakes and Arrows DVD. Makes sense, too, if you read the liner notes on the Rush in Rio DVD. They had to deal with a host of technical problems.
Performance-wise, and especially audience-wise, the Rio DVD is unbeatable. That crowd was amazing, and I think that's a large part of why Geddy, Alex, and Neil themselves had so much energy.
Consider that in the behind the scenes footage on the Rio DVD, freaking SEPULTURA is interviewed when they attend the show in Sao Paulo (I think). And they are so excited that Rush is finally performing in Brazil....that still brings a smile to my face.
(interesting side note: on Iron Maiden's Flight 666 tour documentary, I'm pretty sure that when they are in Brazil, they show Steve Harris playing soccer with guys from Sepultura....those guys are some serious fans!)
Quoting varigb707 (Reply 6): Hey you guys don't miss Rush's Time Machine Tour, featuring the Moving Pictures album in its entirety.
Already have tickets to both LA-area shows!
Quoting varigb707 (Reply 6): Also, don't forget the movie :
Rush, Beyond the Lighted Stage, coming this summer
I cannot wait for this! Very excited.
"Two and a Half Men" was filmed in front of a live ostrich.
