There was a 1979 or 1980 film call The Pilot. The film stared Cliff Robertson as a DC-8 airline captain name Mike Hagan. Mike Hagan also happen to be an alcoholic. If anybody seen this film, please give me some details about it? Thank you.

I saw the film, not when it was new as I was still a toddler at the time, but several years after it was originally released. Unfortunately, all I can recall about it is that it starred Cliff Robertson as a DC-8 airline captain who also happen to be an alcoholic, and that I enjoyed it. I took a look to see if it's available on VUDU as I would like to watch it again and give you more info., but it's not on there. If I come across it elsewhere and get a chance to watch it soon, I'll provide more info.
The Pilot was actually a fairly accurate aviation flick and worth checking out (if it ever makes it to DVD). There are no wizz bang F/X, heavy drama or action that one associates with this genre of film. Again, it is worth a look, especially if you love the Diesel 8.
BTW, why was this thread moved form the Civil Av forum and moved here?

Agreed, but as thomasphoto60 said, maybe worth a look for the DC-8 footage. Cliff Robertson even directed it. When I checked out the trailer you posted, this one was listed in the side bar.
