Short clips tailored to random individuals from Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter...

Yeah, I know I am being tricked by marketing people, but I really want some Old Spice now....

They should have got one of the Spice Girls for their ad.
Considering they're yesterday's news and pretty soon, one of them will start getting wrinkles and should take on the name; Old Spice.

This is a clever idea. Since we're in a recession and many people are spending less, cheap goods are coming back in vogue.

As a nearly life-long user of Old Spice, I'm finally glad to see it's becoming "cool" again.

Holy crap, look at how many of those short clips they've done.  Wow!

I agree, this is definitely one of the best and most memorable advertising campaigns I've seen in a long long time. Kudos to their marketing team...

Cheers,
Anthony/Airport

One good whiff of that stuff should cure you of that desire. It reeks the same now as it always has.

I'm at work, so I can't see the videos posted, but I remember a couple years ago when I bought some Old Spice body wash, on the back it said, "If your grandfather hadn't worn this, you wouldn't exist."

I think they have an absolutely brilliant marketing department. Nearly all of their ads I've seen in the last few years have been hilarious. Anyone catch the one with the guy chiseling himself chiseling his girlfriend out of ice? "Matterhorn, the world's most succesful mountain!"
Here are my favorites-

"Is failure the one game you refuse to win?"

Anyway, I use old spice stuff regardless of the commercials, but it's nice to see something on TV that actually makes me laugh rather than the usual commercial "humor" that makes you want to cry.

Good company (or companies) to invest in...I would think. People are always going to buy these things, regardless of economy I would think...

A fun little example of the painful idiocracy that is the world of youtube comments... literally every single ad for oldspice on that site has at least 10 people making a joke in the comments section about "the (whatever is in the commercial) is now diamonds!", followed by hundreds of people liking those comments. Really? That's all it takes for laughs? I really think you can begin to grasp the challenges that the youth in this country face when you start to read comments on popular youtube videos. It's astonishing how amazingly stupid some people can be, and chances are they're all 10-18 year olds squandering time that could otherwise be spent reading actual books/outdoors/learning in general. Yay. Rant over.
