I know this is a real long shot, considering that the movie in question is older than most users here, but maybe someone can help.
Anyway, have any of you seen the movie from that prehistoric, Neanderthal era-the 80's "License To Drive"?
About 10 or 15 minutes into the movie, the two Coreys' characters go to a party, where they meet Mercedes. That is also where she dumps her abrasive boyfriend and to dodge him, spontaneously tells him that she has a date for Saturday night with Wes.
In the background is a song playing. It is played for about 2 or 3 minutes.

No, I think when I was 8 was the last time I saw it. but I still rip lines off of that film all the time.
The cup......was empty!
What are you waiting for? Christmas!?
A classic. Could you try downloading the songs that you think might be it? What did it sound like? I'm sure you could rule out some of the ones on the list.

Drive my Car is a Beattles remake. You'd know if it was Billy Ocean or Belinda Carlisle. And you'd probably know if it were DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

Well, hope you 80's guys can help me with one. Unfortunately, my description is even more vague as my only clue is some half-remembered lyrics.
Here goes (thank goodness I don't have to actually try to sing this)...
The song starts off with male back-up singers something like this...
"Whoa oh oh oh oh oh, Whoa oh oh oh oh oh...."
Then, skip further into that song with words as I recall...
"Night tonight, video, video"....
Okay, that's the lamest I think I may have ever been, but it's been haunting me for a month. Laugh at me if you will. I've probably opened myself up to it.
However, if it rings a bell, I'll be delighted with your help.
