Was Zidane's goal the best goal to win the Cup? Man of match - Casillas.

Zidanes goal was a stunner! a real peach of a shot. But i'm getting bored of seeing real win the european cup, someone else needs to win it.

Zidanes goal was awesom, Real had to hold on at the end, and Leverkusen put on a valiant fight right to the end!!!! Good match  Smile

Zidane's was a peach of a goal. Leverkusen put up a great fight, but it proves one thing, Real are, and have been, the best team in the World for a long time now!

Just to remember, watching this game was just wasting your time  Big grin Leverkusen will _NEVER_ win a title.

This year they made the tripple : 2nd in the Bundesliga, 2nd in the National Cup and 2nd in the Champions League  Smile

In Germany they are called "Vizekusen" (Vicekusen)

I can't believe Leverkusen didn' net the ball in those last few minutes of stoppage. I don't see why other Americans don't like the sport what drama.

That dramatic that you had to post it twice?  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I honestly thought that when the ball was swung in, Butt would put it in, but unfortunetely he put it wide  Sad. Leverkusen had plenty of great chances in the dying seconds!!! But you can't say that they deserved it, afterall in the semi's it was the same way with Manchester Utd (remember goldilocks' chance? Big grin).

Great game, great goal......
Like some stated, Real Madrid have been the best team in the world for awhile now, eventhough they just lost out to Valencia in the title they will prove to be the team to beat in the coming years if they continue to spend on big players.

If there was a level playing field, things might have been a bit different. It helps when your training ground is sold for well over the odds and helping to wipe out debts and release more money for transfers!

I thought the German goalkeeper Butt was terrible. The first goal was a terrible blunder and I though Zidane's volley should have resulted in a routine save too. I would be disappointed if my team had let in those two goals.

It was a good strike by Zidane, but the goalkeeper really should have saved it. Plus the defence should have closed him down. Real won with 2 goals from mistakes.

An entertaining final to say the least. Dream goal by Zidane and Leverkausen put up a great game and all that.  Smile

I didn't know who to cheer for. Leverkausen knocked out united so I should have wished them all the worst. But if Leverkausen won the CL, United could say they were beaten by the best. (Like when Real and Bayern knocked United out of the tournament and went on to win the whole thing.)

So I'm happy with the result either way.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Congrats Real Madrid. (Enjoy it while it lasts.)

HaaalaMadriiiiiiiiiiiii !!! We got the Ninth !!!
I am glad they played against Leverkusen, I think that ManUtd with all its key players was the only team that could challenge Real Madrid this year.
Anyway, Bayer Leverkusen is a team that plays to the offensive and doesn't hide. This match was great fun to watch, even if you were no fan of these teams.

Alex, why would anyone wanted to have gone to PIK, EDI and GLA when everyone knows that next year's gathering at MAN will be that much better  Wink/being sarcastic Doubtless, we'll end up with a Man Utd v Liverpool (or any combination of the English cluvs) final!

One future MAN movement is an Air New Zealand 747 at the end of the Games...but not, it seems, coming before the Games !?!?!?
