My parents live in France and I was over there last week. Diesels is generally cheaper in France than in the UK. I think in town petrol stations, they're paying somewhere in the region of €1.10 per litre for diesel, about €1.20 for petrol (this is in Normandy BTW). Expect to pay approx €0.10 to €0.20 per litre more on the autoroutes.
