From the recent round of heated gay vs. straight threads, I can't help but wonder if all the straight guys here are as equally "disgusted" by lesbianism as they are with male homosexuality.
You gotta admit, for most of us straight males, lesbianism *is* arousing to me. Yet for all the homophobic guys who are "repulsed" by two males, why are such guys usually not as repulsed by female homosexuality?
I'm just trying to wonder why this is?
How do our female members feel about lesbianism?
From a male perspective, is it "not as bad" as male gayness? Is it "less-disgusting?" More "natural?" Does God accept gay women quicker than he would gay males?

It's a horrible idea...here's the math.
Say you have a population of 100 males and 100 females. It you make, for example, 20 percent of the females lesbians, that will leave you with only 80 available females for those 100 males.
Needless to say it will make the competition for those 100 males a lot harder then if we had a 1 to 1 relationship.
Now on the other hand if we where to make 20% of those males gay instead....well that would be a good thing, because there would only be 80 straight males competing for the attention of the larger female population.
Those are my thoughts anyway.

The thought of seeing two hot blondes with a perfect body getting it on is always arousing... unfortunately, that's the glamourised version of "porn-lesbians". In reality, most lesbians are short-haired dykes that try to act and sound like men, and that's the truth. Definitely doesn't turn me on anyway...
True, but given that 20% of men might be gay, and 20% of woman might be gay, that still leaves 80% on both sides, thus the equation stays the exact same.
What other people think of you is none of your business!

I'm all for lesbianism. Like others though, I definitely prefer the hot ones. I myself was in a discussion a few years ago about this. This one guy was all into lesbians, but then said how gay's was absolutly disgusting. I was like while I don't get anything out of 2 dudes going at it, I have no problem with it. To each his/their own. But it's hard to say lesbianism is okay, but homosexual males is not. You don't have to agree with it or like it, but you can't say it's wrong. Hypocritism is a pain in the ass.....

When I'm allowed to go to the topless bars, we sometimes get two girls to do a little lesbian performance, and this is pretty interesting. I think mainly, though, its because they will do to each other what they will not let us do to them. It provides a striking scene to actually be that close to the action. There's a certain shock value effect.
Otherwise though, on videos or in the very rare case that I meet two lesbians acting as a couple, it really doesn't do much for me. I think its because I don't fit into the picture for them that it doesn't really excite me.

They're not "doing" each other; they're "doing" you (as in, performing for $$). Good fun, says I.
Of course, there is nothing inherently "better" about lesbian "gayness" than male-on-male; it's just that, as straight guys, we find it generally more appealing to imagine (or look at) nekkid wimmen, than nekkid men.
In my experience, when you leave out observation of the sex acts (which, let's get real, is generally none of our business anyway), most gay couples I've seen act like... well... couples. Which is to say, like two people in a close and personal relationship. And the fact of their "orientation" is incidental to their relationship, not defining.
If y'know what I mean.

Broadening the definition of homophobia again, are we?
Why some guys like watching two girls go at it, while at the same time get disgusted by two guys is not all that complicated. Don't try to read into it more than it really is folks. If a guy likes watching two chicks, it doesn't mean he's into 'gay-sex', but more that he's into kinky women.

Well, fact is that straight mens (incl. my self) prefer females for sexual contacts. Thats why I think more mens don't have problem with that what lesbians are doing. I could imagine, that with girls it is the other side around, they don't mind if a men is gay because they usually have a sexual relation ship with mens. See my point?
How ever, I think that there are quite a lot of Lesbians who don't like mens due to what ever reason, don't u think?

SwissGabe. More women that will admit it, get turned on by men on men sex. Like with masturbation, they tend not to be up front and admit it. I have known quite a few chicks who opperate under the thing of "If you want me to watch porn with 2 chicks in it, why won't you watch porn with me with 2 guys going at it". Personally, under those circumstances, it doesn't bother me. Not that it did anyway, but if that was the case, then hey, you give, and you get. Thats how I have always handled my business.

Oh no, I think that's the faaaaaarthest from the truth, Rindt. Seriously. I used to think that too. But you'd be utterly amazed at the numbers of "undercover" lesbos that are definitely Pam Anderson/Jennifer Lopez/Britney Spears quality.
True, a lot of those people might be merely confused bi-girls. But still, your head would spin if you'd venture into any neighborhood Dyke bar. The last time I went to one, it literally seemed to be 50/50 between "lipstick" lesbian and hard core "butch" girls.
I noticed that Lesbians also seem to be more into the role playing thing (ie., "husband" and "wife" roles) than gay guys.
And whichever poster said that a tongue and a finger "can only go so far" with dykes is correct. The last time my two dyke friends invited me to watch them do the "do" they broke out with this big 10" double-headed black dildo and immediately put it to use.
They urged me to "join in" at that point as they wanted so much to see what it's like to "plow a guy."

whenever anyone i know is talking about lesbians, i ask if they're talking about "furry dyke" lesbians or "hot lesbian action" lesbians.
They are both unnatural concepts, but the first one is just Really Really gross.
"pink triangle" by =W=(eezer)
When I'm stable long enough
I start to look around for love
See a sweet in floral print
my mind begins the arrangements
but When I start to feel that pull
turns out I just pulled myself
she would never go with me
were I the last girl on earth
I'm dumb, she's a lesbian
I thought I had found the one
we were good as married in my mind
but married in my mind's no good
a Pink Triangle on her sleeve
let me know the truth, let me know the truth
Might have smoked a few in my time
but never thought it was a crime
knew the day would surely come
when I'd chill and settle down
when I think I've found a good old-fashioned girl
then she put me in my place
if everyone's a little queer
can't she be a little straight?

I too enjoy watching lesbians but I prefer brunettes to blondes. I once saw this lesbian porn which was horrific! Ugly overweight chicks with bushes man I couldn't watch porn for a while after that one.

Well, my 0.01:
I've heard many friends (male) say the following sentence, meaning that they like sex very much:
"If I were a woman I'd be a whore"
OK. My sentence is the following one:
"If I were a woman, I'd be lesbian"
I think I have some reasons for saying this, since I have some gay friends and some lesbo ones, too.
Think something: we men are very limited in sex. We can do our best to please our partners, but whatever we can do, our last satisfaction is an orgasm 8-10 seconds localised on the "red end" of our "instrument", and after that we need a while to recover.
We certainly can intensify our pleasure by manipulating other places during the orgasm, and get an orgasm twice as long and more than twice as intense. But women can go on from one orgasm to another almost continuously for as long as they want or do not get tired. And be sure of something: two women making love can reach to levels of sensibility, sensuality and pleasure that we men can hardly imagine.
For our luck, most women try to refuse it in their minds, too. Because, otherwise, we would have very difficult time finding female sex partners. You can swear it.
The reason we prefer lesbian sex rather than gay sex has been clearly written above by Swissgabe: as we do not please sex with other men, for sure we do not feel attracted by two men "doing each other", regardless it is for their own satisfaction or for $$$.
But I would like to note something on Rindt's sentence: you can bet your sexual orientation that there exist some of what some friends and I call "truck driver" lesbians, but most of these ones are frustrated on other aspect of their lifes, mainly their own body or beauty standards.
On the opposite hand I would be very pleased to introduce to you some stunning beauties that would cause either that:
1.- you accepted to pay crazy amount of money to have sex with them (provided they accepted, which would be highly improbable), or
2.- you committed suicide because they would never accept any kind of male contact, or
3.- you became gay thinking that your future as a "chick conqueror" had come to an end, or
4.- a combination of the previous ones
Finally, the comment of SEVEN_FIFTY7 about some lesbians being "confused bi-girls" is somehow correct, but I can swear that the many most of them are confused for the OPPOSITE reason: they are young, they feel lesbian, but because they doubt, they tend to refuse one of their orientations. And because of social "rules", they try to refuse their lesbian part, while actually they are willing deeply in their souls to refuse their hetero side and freely love only "the lesbic way".
BTW: I haven't read any comment from our female colleagues, so far. What do you think? Are any of you lesbian, or are you willing to become lesbian, or have you ever thought (even only once) to make love with another woman? Many women without prejudices that have "crossed the line" have never come back... And some of the ones who have come back have done it because of social reasons but/and/or keep a secret lesbian lover, or have even managed to convince their male partners to participate in trios with other women (which is not that difficult, since most of us have the fantasy of having sex with two women, and whoever says the opposite thing is lying).
