Hopefully he does it without harming anyone else.

Sounds like they did a great job getting most of the people out. Police have refused to say if he has fired any shots though eyewitnesses said one or two shots have been fired.

This could apply to any of these actions. A few days ago in Manila, Philippines, a former highranking cop, who got fired after having been caught in an extortion attempt, tried to force the government to give him his old job back by hijacking a bus full of Chinese tourists. Unfortunately Manila police f#cked up the hostage rescue big time (probably professional jealousy of the local police commander, who wanted his own unit, though neither trained nor equiped for such a task, carry out the mission even though a highly trained Army hostage rescue team was on standby), resulting in 8 dead hostages as well as several injured (among them rubberneckers). The ijacker got killed as well.
The Philippine National Inquirer, the leading Filipino English language newspaper called the former cop a traitor, who should be dumped in an anonymous grave without ceremony.

It's sad to see some people just lose it. Here in SLC we had a former soldier killed by PD last week after he showed up at a local hotel armed to the teeth and opened fire on officers.

Concur.
However, I have a feeling this is not going to end well and this guy becomes a martyr of sorts to the ELF/ELA/ALF crowd.
While I understand what he's putting out there in his manifesto, the phrase "A snowball's chance in Hell" comes to mind as the chance of Discovery Communications doing any of the things in it.

I didn't read the manifest but I wonder if mentioned anything about Fox bringing back Arrested Development.
In all seriousness I hope everyone gets out safely and this idiot is sent to Moffett to clean Hanger One so Mythbusters can use it some more.

Wow he takes hostages because he wants new TV shows?!
Some of his demands:
8. Saving the Planet means saving what's left of the non-human Wildlife by decreasing the Human population. That means stopping the human race from breeding any more disgusting human babies! You're the media, you can reach enough people. It's your resposibility because you reach so many minds!!!
9. Develop shows that will correct and dismantle the dangerous US world economy. Find solutions for their disasterous Ponzi-Casino economy before they take the world to another nuclear war.
10. Stop all shows glorifying human birthing on all your channels and on TLC. Stop Future Weapons shows or replace the dialogue condemning the people behind these developments so that the shows become exposes rather than advertisements of Arms sales and development!
Interesting..I thought humans were not part of "wildlife" and that all wildlife is "non-human".
Shows that will "dismantle the dangerous US world economy"?..wait...what? How the hell can TV shows dismantle a country's/the world's economy?!
"Shows that glorify human birthing?"! Which show is that? The BBC other channels such as Nat Geo etc have lots of shows which show humans being born but it is hardly glorified.

Narrated by Mike Rowe.
Quoting garnetpalmetto (Reply 15): My guess is "17/18/19 Kids and Counting" and the various specials Discovery Communication have done on the nutball Duggar family.
I can't really stand 19 Kids and Counting and Jon and/or Kate Plus 8... but i wouldn't storm Discovery headquarters and demand shows advocating the end of human breeding. Now if he was advocating more programming with the blonde truck driver from Ice Road Truckers I might be in agreement.
