I just got back from a round of golf and I did amazing. I'm wondering how far do you hit with your driver and what type of driver is it?

I hit all my drives between 215-280 yards with a Callaway Steelhead Plus 10 degree with a regular shaft.

I use a 360cc Head, 9 degree loft with X-Stiff shaft, 2" over standard, 55 lie and generate around 110-125 mph club head speed with my driver. I am a long ball hitter and tend to hit around 275-310 yards, I have also won long drive contests in tournys, 335 yarder is my longest on flat surface in tourny play. I have reached a 365 yard green, 5-10 mph tail wind with tier slopping toward green and very dry conditions. I work hard at playing and used to chip 400 balls a day and hit 110 range balls after that. I have played junior golf and played on the Air Force team. Many of my friends who I played Junior golf with are now Pro golfers, Pearl Sinn (LPGA), Grace Park (LPGA), Kim Saiki (LPGA) and Tiger Woods (PGA). Tiger from Cypress Calif, was not a friend but we both played Junior golf (AJGA and SCJGA) in same tournaments but he was much younger and better. Pearl was on my High School team and we ranked #3 in California at that time 1981-1985. I love golf and consider it hands down the hardest sport to master, after 20 years of play, I have achieved about a 4-6 handicap, with some career days of -2 under a few times. It's a tough sport and very frustrating to say the least.

I hit the ball around 200-250 (250 rolling) with my Taylor Made Supersteel. I'm thinking of getting rid of it, and going for a supersteel!

When I play frequenly I can often achieve a distance of 300 yards. I use a Titleist 975D 9.5 stiff shaft. Its a damn good club but the sweet spot is pretty small. I want to get the Taylor Made 320R because my brother has just bought one and now his drives are starting to reach my distance. My handicap is 16.

I can usually drive a golf ball 360 miles with a Ford Escort. Then it's time to refuel.

Interesting post here. Talking about driving balls, the only way to do that is properly handling the shaft.

Are you trying to tell us something else?

If I play frequently as well I usually range between 270-315 yards. If i take some time off I seem to loose my yardage significantly down to a range of 250-280.

I once hit a 230 yard grounder with my driver. It hovered about 4 feet off the ground for 150 yards or so, then rolled the rest of the way.

I doubt it. I belive only 3 pros can drive an average of 300 yds, do I dont think you can. People always say "ya, I can go 300 alot of times". No you cant, belive me, I play alot of golf, and I mean ALOT. I did my average on a driving range and my average cam out about 275. 315 yds. WOW, why arn't you guys on the tour. maybe you can show them how do drive it that far. When nick price drove it 360 yds, the anoucers said it was the longest they had ever seen. I was on graas that was so dry itr was burnt and a 15 MPH tail wind. I hate to say it, but I have serious doubts that you did that.
