A.net Photogs - Show Your Best No-Av Work (Oct/Nov 10)

To all the a.net photographers the last thread went down quite well but had now been archived so given its success I thought that I would start a new thread to see what everyone has been up to in the last month even though this is the October edition of course the pictures can be older

If you wish you can also place a link to your respective profile as I have done below to enable fellow a.net photographers to add you as a contact so as to enable each other to follow each others work.

http://www.flickr.com/people/MWHCVT/

A simple rule of the thread is the work must be your own, try and give a background story to the picture

So this was taken last night after going out for a meal to celebrate my brother in laws 40th had stumbled across the location a few days earlier and knew it would not be long before I returned with the camera

Street lights gone Wild by mwhcvt, on Flickr

Actually from September but I just love the effect, without reading the description on flickr can you figure this shot out???

As you can see light is my main interest at this point in time and it is a hope to bring this into the a.net fold at some point in the near future.

Looking forward to seeing your fantastic work this month.

Here are two or three of my favorites taken with my new equipment. When I posted in the old thread, I was still using my old Olympus.

1) Nissan GT-R at Bimmerstock 2010, a car show in Glen Cove, NY.
http://tisdigital.com/auto/images/large/auto_06.jpg

2) My girlfriend at Celtic Fest 2010, in Bethlehem, PA. I don't know why I love this image, but it really caught my eye when I uploaded it.
http://tisdigital.com/portrait/images/large/portrait_09.jpg

3) Flowers in Madison Square Park, in New York City.

Here's a link to my website for anyone who's interested: http://www.tisdigital.com

Enjoy!

Not many new pics since the last thread unfortuntately, but here's mine:

Petra is usually thronged with tourists, so it was lucky to get a rare quiet moment when this horse and carriage turned a bend in the Siq.

I love to shoot either early in the morning or late in the day when the sun's angle is nice and low. It gives a drama to the light that you simply can't get at mid-day. These were all shot in Havana Cuba, a photo-rich environment.

I think that conveys the mood quite well. The media was asking all sorts of nasty (and loaded) questions in regards to the B747 and A380 engine incidents in the recent time. You can sense the tension.
