Having seen the result of the UK Defence Spending Review announced by Mr. Cameron's government yesterday I am somewhat perplexed - obviously I see the great need to cut spending but some of the decisions are a little weird. For example axing the Harrier fleet leaving our only remaining carrier HMS Illustrious and the new HMS Queen Elizabeth after her with no fighter aircraft onboard. I actually find having no deployable fighter force at sea rather worrying.
As much as I support the current government, and are aware that they know all the facts to make the decisions and I do not, I can't help but feel that some of these things aren't a very good idea.
