My daughter and I are leaving most likely this evening to attend the last launch of the shuttle Discovery. We plan to watch the launch from Spaceview Park as we decided a bit late to attend and tickets for the causeway and KSC are long gone. Should get there around 10am or so.

I'll be there. Have fun, Dxing! I was thinking of heading to Space View Park this evening myself with a tripod and try to get Discovery bathed in the xenon lights.

Welp, I'm holding off. I got word from a close-in source that one of the main engine controllers just got fried in a high-voltage transient. That'll definitely be a scrub, and it'll probably be a multi-day scrub.

Edit to add: Now it doesn't appear that serious. Ah, and I'm conflicted. I think I'll head that way, and if it scrubs, I'll just head back.

I had heard on the top of the hour news that there was a problem as well. Oh well too late now. I'd lose a days room fee if I called at this point. No launch, no problem, just a day on the beach. We'll not get in until late this evening but Spaceview park for sure tomorrow unless they scrub. Will you be there tomorrow?

You all lucky people! Wish I could have gone too... There's always next year, at least one more, maybe even two more launches or even a change in the program with the change of majority in the House.

I just posted on the new delay on the Mil/AV forums. They still have about 24 hours to fix the glitches.
You all have a great launch viewing and most of all I hope no rain!!!

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

Launch for tomorrow is scrubbed. Caught the news at the airport just in time. Rats. But I think we will head over there tomorrow to at least see it on the pad.

I live in Celebration near WDW. I won't make it to the coast, but I will watch it from here.
