Where Can I Get This "New York Yankees" Cap?

Hi all (especially you American guys),

I was watching Duck Sauce's "Barbra Streisand" video and noticed the following NY Yankees cap:

http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/9127/capyoutube.jpg

It is the Yankee logo on the cap, or? I am not really up to date regarding American sports, please correct me when I am wrong!

Where can I get this cap? It is not available in the official Yenkees store. Was it from an older collection? Can anyone recommend base-cap online stores?

Usually I don't wear these things, but this one is fucking cool somehow.

Thanks in advance!

Patrick

Why would you want a Yankees cap?

If I'm not mistaken, that is the hat that was worn on the 4th of July, and possibly during another game (maybe Postseason?).

I know this year, every team had special hats they wore over 4th of July weekend, to celebrate the holiday.

Cheers,
Cameron

It is not because of the team, I simply like the design!

Thanks a bunch for the info!

Try Lids, they have many different iterations of team logos:

Thanks a lot, what an awesome collection!  Wow!

Unfortunately was the one I am searching for not available, only a very similar one called "2010 AC Stars & Stripes", it has some other stuff on the visor that I don't really like.

Thanks for the info though! I will write an eMail to Lids to ask them where I could get it!

Yeah, I found it as well but the thing on the visor is annoying on the cap in the Lids shop! I want exactly this one but without the thing on the visor (as shown in the music video)!

That's why it's just a sticker that you can easily take off.

Are you sure? Not that I blow a lot of money, it arrives here and I can't pull this shit off!

Ok, if it is just a sticker, I will order it right now! Somehow I like it to have clothes that not everyone has here in Germany, my shoes are all Nike SBs ordered in the USA, this cap will be another unique one.

Thanks a lot guys for your very quick help!

Are you sure?

Every hat I've bought has the same sort of sticker on the top of the bill, and I always peel it off right away (the ones on the bottom I tend to leave on, but you can just as easily take them off too). I can't think of a reason why this one would be different.

But if you want to be 100% sure, just email them and ask.

Good to know! Why should it be different here?

A lot of kids who think they are thugs leave the stickers on for some reason. The urban crowd loves to leave stickers on hats and tags on clothes. When I used to teach in Detroit I would see that crap every day. I still see it in the suburbs with the kids who have seen one too many rap videos.

I don't get the flat brim thing either....

This past summer I flew CDG-DTW and saw some young French kids on the plane who were wearing their hats in a very thugish fashion. I laughed because if those kids wore their hats like that in certain neighborhoods they would be showing rival gang affiliation and may get hurt. I guess they saw some rap video and think we all dress like that.

I saw a store at MAN this year that was full of "Yankees" hats. I was kind of pissed off because if people really wanted to look American they would buy a Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, etc hat not some stupid Yankees hat like some rapper who probably could care less about baseball. I proudly wear my Detroit Tigers hat when I'm in Europe. I wouldn't be caught dead in a Yankees hat....

I wouldn't be caught dead in any other team's apparel. Granted, I am actually a fan of the team, and I regard pretty much all of the novelty hats as anathema.

That doesn't make anyone look anymore "American". New York City (and the Yankess) are just as "american" as anyone else...

Anyone know the producing company of the cap? Starter? Nike? (Nike would be cool   )

Somehow I hate it when someone else is wearing the same stuff I am wearing. Thanks God for the internet, no need to fly to the states every time I need new clothes!

That logic is going to get you some serious crap should you wear it anywhere in the US except NYC.

ALL Major League teams did the same design this year.... and yes, it's just a sticker on the brim.

Nah, there are too many bandwagon fans around the US. I think most people are used to it by now. But do not wear it to Boston....

It's only a sticker. I bought the Royal's version of this cap over the summer. It was worn on Memorial Day, Independance Day, and maybe another date or two. Two years ago I believe the cap's were all red with the same stars and stripes team emblem.

On the same subject, I'm glad hat/jersey makers are coming back with the throwbacks. I totally would rock the old school Nuggets hat or Jazz hat if they weren't in the same conference as my beloved Mavericks. Even the Mavs have some awesome old school stuff.
