Airing Of Grievances

Many Christmases ago, our founder Frank Costanza went to buy a doll for his son. As he reached for the last one the store had, so did another man. As he rained blows upon the man, he realized there had to be another way!

And out of that, a new holiday was born … a Festivus for the rest of us!

One of the main tenants of this holiday is the Airing of Grievances: friends and family gather and tell each other all the ways they have disappointed you over the past year. So I want to start A-Nets own Airing of Grievances! Obviously I want to keep it light hearted, so keep it fun.

ALRIGHT! I HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH YOU PEOPLE!

-DocLightning! You have disappointed me! Why are you always undressing me with your eyes. It makes me feel so cheap.

-Keesje! You have disappointed me! I thought 2010 was going to be the year that you stopped being Airbus's biggest cheerleader!

-Superfly! You have disappointed me most! Out of all the many photos you posted this year, and out of all the wonderful Asian women you have on arm... you never had more than 3 at one time. You're simply not trying hard enough. Some of us live vicariously through you!

-FXRamper! You have disappointed me! Your biggest goal in life as been to become an Anet mod! Well we're still waiting!

-DXing! You have disappointed me! You fool no one with your crazy ultra conservative ways! We all thought 2010 would be the year that you came out of the closet at an Obama lover. Don't worry, we'll be here for you in 2011.

-FlyDeltaJets87! You have disappointed me! ...Mostly because you're an LT now, and by definition we all have to stop listening to you until you make CPT.

-Steeler83! You have disappointed me! The Patriots are on a roll. They're Super Bowl bound... and yet you still cling to your silly Steelers.

.....I am sure there are many more of you out there! Air your grievances now!

I'm flattered.

I talk to much shit to Steven in our fantasy sports leagues to ever be considered for a moderator position. Maybe they should finally make Hawk21M.

UH60FtRucker - You have disappointed me because you settled for driving a Blackhawk in the Army when your smart enough to drive a jet in the Air Force.

SRBmod - See above statement.

gigneil - You have disappointed me because you offer more to this site than most but gave up months a go.

DocLightning - You have disappointed me when you spend more time posting on this site when you should be giving flu and tetanus shots.

IAHcsr - You have disappointed me because the few of us that know your Gordon Bethune were more than upset when you let the Peter Max 777 die.

I don't give shots. My medical assistant does. I just order them. Speaking of which, bend over...

UH60FtRucker- YOU HAVE DISAPPOINTED ME! You're hot and you're in the army. You're SUPPOSED to be a conservative jerk who hates anyone not white and straight! Why did you have to turn out to be free-thinking and intelligent and stuff??

Superfly! YOU HAVE DISAPPOINTED ME (I'm sure I'm in good company) You moved away! Now I can't have you over for drinks and BBQ!

Dreadnought! You have SERIOUSLY disappointed me. We've agreed with other on various issues...what...FOUR whole times this year? UNACCEPTABLE! I demand more contrary-ness (or whatever).

Keesje! You have disappointed me! More pretty pictures in 2011!

And, last but CERTAINLY not least: All the PINK A.netters, WHERE THE FARG IS THE WYHI Pink thread???

Not site related, but here it is.

Stop trying to make me care about the UConn women's basketball team. No matter how much the Booyah's talk about it, show it, and otherwise attempt to shove it down my throat I still don't give a shit. Womens' basketball is bad. They are slower, lacking athleticism and generally have none of the traits that make the NBA and mens' basketball entertaining. As a Chicago radio host put it: like it if you want, but don't tell me it's good.

And to their miserable bastard of a coach: NO! YOU CANNOT BREAK A MENS' RECORD WITH A TEAM OF WOMEN! That's why it's the men's record. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is one of the greatest basketball players ever, but how many names from the UConn women will we remember in ten years? Probably none, unless one of the players makes it into Playboy, which considering the physical attributes of the better female basketball players, is unlikely.

I suppose I should congratulate the team and ESPN on garnering the second highest TV rating ever for womens' basketball, but then again, it was beaten soundly by the Maaco Las Vegas Bowl (which I didn't realize existed until yesterday) featuring a lot of players who we will probably never hear from again after their college career or cling to an NFL practice squad.

So please ESPN, can't you give us another LeBron James after school special? Or an update on Brett Farve? (seriously, we need to know what parts of the Great Dongslinger are hurting today) Not to mention that it's only 108 days until the next Yankees vs. Red Sox game so can't we get our predictions and in depth analysis, even if it means rehiring Joe Morgan, who was too inept even for the boys of Bristol? This unabashed hype for something none of us care about makes me miss the amusingly bad East Coast Sports Network I grew up with.

After the World Cup in 1994, we still don't care about soccer. After the 2010 Olympics, we still don't care about hockey. And after the UConn women, we still won't care about womens' basketball. So please make it go away.

I am terribly disappointed in myself, in the time I have been on here, I have not been able to convert one Conservative to the Liberal, Union loving side. I had high hopes for Dreadnaught and DXing, but, I could not pull it off. I will continue trying.

The sad part is since I work in an engineering unit where everyone is either an officer or civilian, I don't outrank anyone. My opinion really doesn't count for anything there.    Although it's not like we do much work in the Air Force anyway. Spend the first half of the day reading email and spend the second half of the day playing golf (with the officers getting a cart, of course).

My biggest disappointment is with DocLightning. Since DADT being repealed, he has not hit on any of us military members asking for a date (Unless such requests are being done via PM, in which case, which leaves me to wonder why I haven't gotten one yet).

UH60FtRucker: You disappoint me by being a Patriots fan. One day you realize the GIants, despite deciding to only play 3 and 1/2 quarters against Philadelphia last week, are the better team, are the better team and that Eli Manning is a superior quarterback to Tom Brady.

FXRamper: You're a Cowboys fan. 'Nuff said.

Steeler83: I would have a grievance against you for not coming to Cincinnati for a Bengals - Steelers game, but I wouldn't waste my money to go to a Bengals game this season either, so no grievance there (this year)

To the woman who broke my heart...you know who you are...you disappoint me! You are the reason I don't celebrate Christmas anymore. Why? Well...

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart. The very next day, you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special. I wrapped it up and sent it with a note saying, "I love you." I meant it. Now I know what I fool I've been.

One lousy insignificant "superbowl," and you think that makes the Giants better than the team that went undefeated all season.

You're right. I do think one "insignificant Super Bowl" trumps your 16-0 regular season. .

The thing people will remember the most about the Patriots "16-0" regular season is that they failed to make it 19-0. The sad part is I didn't hate the Patriots until that season (heck, my dad even did USO work with the New England Patriots while he was on active duty with the Air Force). But I got so sick of Patriots fans shit-talking to me before the Super Bowl "I can't believe we have to play the Giants. What a joke. This Super Bowl will be nothing but a formality on the way to our perfect season." Funny how they didn't want to be around the morning after that Super Bowl though.

Yeah, yeah...I've seen all those posters. But you might want to tell your "superior" quarterback Eli that he's supposed to pass the ball to his teammates and not to the opposition. Ooops...I guess it is a few hours too late for that, but I don't see Green Bay complaining
