I was about to post this thread on the Travel and Polls section, but it doesn't really have to involve taking a flight or doing something aviation related...
So, where are you guys going this summer?
My family's going to Denver, from Denver, we're going on a 7-Day Bus Tour to Yellowstone Natl. Park, Mt. Rushmore, Jackson Hole, Arches Ntl. Park, Salt Lake City and a bunch of other national parks. The Bus Tour is $448.00 for 7Days, 6 Nights with Hotel accommodations. It's buy 2 take 1, so I'm free, so we only paid $896.00. Our flight from LGA to DEN was only $137 (the regular price for our specific flight was $447.00) We used up 10,000 Miles from our UA Mileage Plus account which we racked up last summer. So we saved $310/ person, $930 for the three of us!
So our 7 Day, 6 Nights, 6 States, Yellowstone, Mt.Rushmore, etc Vacation costs $1,581.00 for the three of us. ($527/person)
We were supposed to go to Europe this summer, but I suggested that we should go in 2012 to see the Olympics in London on top of the planned Italy, France, Scandinavia, etc. And my mom needed to save more money since we spent more than $11,000 last summer on our 2 months Asia vacation, so we're going on a "small" summer vacation this year.

Well, since it is summer here already, I'm planning to go to Vancouver in late January, for a week and a half before school resumes in February. I'm flying NZ via AKL, and I'll be spending a few days there as well.

Going to the Azores, visiting the islands of Terceira and Sao Miguel.
I lived at Lajes Field on Terceira from 1973-1977, and visited all nine islands while I was there. I have always wanted to go back for a visit. I finally decided that next summer it will happen.
Those who want to do something will find a way; those who don't will find an excuse.

If I have enough money, then I would like to go on an interrail trip, visiting the following countries:
Croatia- Bosnia- Greece- Italy-Spain-France. And some other countries on the way I would go for 4 weeks, with my backpack and my tent, and, of course, my camera. Meet some new people, see different countries and cultures and have fun.
Most likely I won't have enough money, so I would like to go to Denmark by bike, also with my tent and camera. Maybe for a week, or two.

Very, very cool. I've heard that Turkmenistan are hoping to finally 'kill' the Derweze fire pit, and would love to get there before it happens. Ironically it's probably too expensive for me to manage it... but I may give it a go. Are you planning on visiting the Aral Sea area? That's also on my list of 'must see' (pun not intended) destinations.

If the wife and I can get our vacation weeks to line up correctly, we're heading off to Myrtle Beach for a week with the kid. We last went back before we got married, so this will be our first real vacation since then. It will probably also be our last one for a while, too.

I have no idea at the moment, probably a week or two in the mediterranean, depending on what my boyfriend and I can afford. It also depends what staff discount I'm entitled to with a company I'm going for an interview with on Thursday.

Hershey PA. Possibly Ocean City MD. We stick to places within driving range, since flying is such a nightmare nowadays. I will have to fly in June. My sister-in-law is getting married in Pittsburgh and that is one long ride from where I am. 9+ hours in the car with a three year-old can be really tedious. I'd like to visit the AF Museum at Wright-Pat. but that is low on the list of priorities.

After two years with expensive holidays (Washington DC & Moscow), next year's holiday will be on a more modest budget. I would like to visit Zurich for the WEF and perhaps a long weekend Madrid or Prague for the summer holiday.

Cebu,Philippines, via Tokyo and/or Hong Kong and maybe join a girlfriend who works on a cruise ship out of FLL. Would take in several countries in the Caribbean as well if I do. Would love to take in Rio Carnival again as well, but I don't have the money for that...

Home studying summer self-courses. Small chance I get to go to Buzios with an uncle, to join the masses of Argentines that turn that region of Bahia Brazil into the Amazon version of Buenos Aires in January and February. Which is why I am not 100% into the idea...
