2011-What Do You Hope For Yourself In The New Year

This thread is for what you want or hope for yourself in 2011. Not politics, not national stuff, not attacks, just you (and maybe your friends or family). What do you want to change or to begin or to stop or to keep doing?

For myself, I can only hope that things continue on pretty much as they are, I had a good 2010 and things are OK with my immediate life, family and friends. My usual "hope to change" is to procrastinate less but it is an ongoing, continuing process. Probably the big thing for me is to exercise a bit more and consume a little less "junk" (from alcohol to processed foods) and go get my big "mid-life" check-up. Another thing is to fix up my yard and catch up on the landscaping work that needs to be done.

So what do you want to change or to begin or to stop or to keep doing?

Retirement. And living under the same roof (finally) as my g.f., the most beautiful and gentlest woman on earth.

I'm hoping my fiance and I finally tie the knot this year. We have been engaged for a couple years but things always come up and we've never really said "ok, lets finally do this thing", but I am hoping 2011 is the year for it.

Stay healthy, pay off some of my debt and find the money to finish the rest of the flight program.

Getting accepted for the Aero/Astro MS at Stanford.
Getting enough time and money to get myself a tailwheel rating.
And to do more aerobatics.
And to go skiing.
Oh, and maybe finally being bothered to try finding a girlfriend.

Me, I'd like a job, got canned after a long time off sick, would settle for winning the lottery   to continue getting more and more healthy.

For my family, to spend more time with them and that we all have a happy 2011 and 2010 was a bad one for a lot of us this year so we all could do with a good one.

For me...

I'd like a better job, preferably in city planning/GIS, and a house. My one-bedroom tin can of an apartment sucks! There's no room where I am at and the place is so poorly maintained. I need to get the hell out and I need to be in a much better place financially and in some cases physically -- that's where the new job comes in...

Do not bring stranger girt into your room. The stranger girt is dangerous, it will hurt your life.

I hope that my mum's operation goes well at the end of February, so she does not have any more pain to suffer. She has to have three vertebrae taken out from her neck.

I also hope that my current relationship is that last one I ever start as he is a great guy and i just want to settle down now. I'm getting too old for this dating malarkey.

I hope to get a great job that I love to do and get well paid for it.

I'd love to be able to actually save some money for the first time in my life.

i would like to find a nice flat to move into as I don't like house shares, which I'm in at the moment,

A big winning lottery is always hopeful.

But as long as my family, partner and myself are all well and healthy, that will do me,

I had a very good 2010, no complaints at all. I started a great job and I visited two new countries (Switzerland and Australia), and visited one that I hadn't been to in over 20 years (New Zealand).

For 2011, I hope to:

-Complete CCNA and Prince2 certifications
-Start gliding again (will have to start from scratch though)
-Visit at least 2 new countries
-Not spend any more money at $tarbuck$ (I must have spent about £800 there in 2010)

A better paying job. It would solve soooo many issues right now. Even if it is the same type of work, which I really don't care for.
