Anyone know any statistic of how many get shot pr. day in the US ?

If there wasn't, we can only conclude that trigger-happy police shot at themselves. How likely is that? I have heard of friendly fire, but police firing on police, how common would that be?

They don't call it "Charm City" for nothing. Baltimore was the backdrop for the TV series "Homicide: Life on the Street", which I've always thought was the best procedural police series ever.

The only other thing I know about Baltimore is the clipper ship replica "Pride of Baltimore", which I was fortunate to tour in I think 1984 in Victoria, BC. Sadly, lost at sea in 1986.


Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Ever seen "The Wire"? A great police drama portrayed in Baltimore, aka "Bodymore, Murdaland".

The population paired with the number of non-accidental homicides places it on top.

Do you have a source for that? A quick google on my part ranks Baltimore at 10th in the US alone - with Caracas, Venezuela on top...

Was reading about a requirement that Baltimore has that forces its cops to carry their guns pretty much 24/7, even if they plan on drinking, going into a bar, etc. Most departments forbid their officers from carrying their weapons if they are planning on drinking, but Baltimore requires it. Don't think copious amounts of alcohol and firearms are the best combination in the world.
