So, my father recently purchased tickets for he and I to go see David Crosby and Graham Nash in concert in April at the Bass Concert Hall, in lovely downtown Austin.

For those whom don't know the names of these two fine gentlemen, they were two-thirds (later half) of the legendary 60's-70's tour de force "Crosby, Stills, and Nash" (later Young.) Their song collection includes such songs as "Love the One You're With", "Teach Your Children Well", "Our House", "Southern Cross", and one of my all-time favorites: "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes", a three-song-in-one triumph of a lost and unrequited love.

David Crosby, to top it off, was the lead singer, and song writer of the 60's band "The Byrds", and was the (well..kind of) writer of "Turn, Turn, Turn", a song that derived it's lyrics strictly from a chapter in the Biblical book of "Ecclesiastes".

So, why so important to me, you may ask? It's simple: it for me, has HUGE emotional and sentimental value. When Iwas young in elementary school, in the early 80's, all my school chums were getting their own huge jam boxes to listen to breakdancing, Michael Jackson, "WHAM!", etc. I therefore asked my parents for one of my own. Sadly, however, was turned down as they, nor I, simply had the money. So in turn, I was able to inherit my father's old record player, and of course, it's records. One of the bands I most quickly took a shine too, was: TAH-DAH! "Crosby, Stills, and Nash."

So, to be able to go see them, and to see them my father, whom has, with me, going through some of the most turbulent lows imaginable at the hands of my once nearly completely snowballing my own life into nothingness, is something I could have not ever asked for of, right now. Life has balance. Life makes sense. The sun shines brighter, and the breeze blows gentler.

"Our house, is a very, very, very fine house, with two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard, now everything is easy, cause of you." Love you Dad. And I hope this concert moves you as much as I know it will me.

The show will knock you out. Their voices are still amazing, esp David Crosby. I saw CS&N three times in 2009 and once in 2010 and every show was incredible (and different every night, songs etc). That's a great album, the self-titled one on the porch, Suite Judy Blue Eyes is amazing, plus you have a one-in-two chance of hearing MY favourite, Guinnivere. Glad you'll get the chance to see these legendary performers. Enjoy the trip!

I saw Crosby Stills and Nash in Paris the year after the first Woodstock festival. The concert took place in the now defunct Bastille train station that was at the time turned into a concert/exhibition venue. There was a lot of stuff circulating in the hall, the kind that must be smoked. The hall wasn't ever full.

It was a bring your own blanket and sit on the floor type of event with a Woodstock type atmosphere Fench style that fit the band quite well. There was not any sign of police anywhere around. This was a long concert, a performance that must have lasted a good 4 hours. Everything was really cool and relaxed in these days of the past. Good memories for sure.

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde
