RIP indeed... for whatever reason she never did anything for me (ok, I know I am gay, but work with me). Like I never found her exceptionally beatiful, never liked her acting and her persona didn´t appeal to me... never got the hype is what I am trying to say...

Still, RIP.

R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor.

Thanks for your years of grace, elegance and contributions.

Wow, she was indeed a looker!

I know for years Michael Jackson wanted to marry her. Now they are together in heaven.

I guess we'll be flooded with National Velvet and Cleopatra re-runs for the next week...

I remember when she was on her 5th or 6th marriage, and everyone was scandalized. Now in Hollywood, it's like, "Six marriages? Phhht... Amateur!"

She certainly was pretty hot in the 50s and 60s though...

Too bad she got so fat. She stopped being good looking 200lbs ago.

Oh... and god forbid I be accused of being a jerk. Ummm... RIP, or something like that.

If there is a heaven or hell Jackson's gonna be rotting in hell after all the kiddie fiddling he did.

A great actress in an era when talent, rather than marketing counted. She will be sorely missed by cinema lovers.

Even at near 60, I'm a bit young to be impressed with her as a 'sex symbol'. At least you know who she was. (My 14 year old granddaughter's junior high theatre class had to be shown who she was today.)

My father says the most breath taking, beautiful woman ever on film was Lauren Bacall when she first hit Hollywood, but Taylor was in the running.

At 86, he is in the right age group to have understood her impact more than we youngsters.

But goodness, she could ACT. We see a couple of what I think are not her best performances frequently, but some of her other ones are truly amazing to me.

And despite all the controversy at times in her life, she did something a lot of folks in Hollywood never do - she frequently devoted a lot of her money to helping people in need.

It's amazing that with all of her health problems over the years that she made it to nearly 80.

Not only a classic and beautiful star that actually had talent behind it all, but also an inveterate campaigner for charitable causes. Liz stood up in the early 1980s and said "we've got to do something about this", then set her mind to raising awareness and important sums of money for AIDS research when there was still a stigma in our society to even talk about the disease in circles that mattered.

She will have my enduring admiration and gratitude.

RIP Liz.

I know.
Why on earth would a multi-millionaire entertainer want to marry an old wrinkled has-been that is 30 years older than him?
