This is exactly why I said in another thread that I would leave the country should he win the presidency (which thankfully I never have thought was beyond a long shot):
Call be a prune, square, old fashioned, but I still think our political process and specially a run for president should have certain standards. It is not a reality show to run this country specially in these times of war, debt, and recession.
This is exactly what I was expecting from Trump. I hope he still has most of his senses and he will announce he is not running, which is why he would do it on his show. I really would be shocked if he did, and I would really be worried for the country then.

But it is okay to hire a community organiser/Professor to deal with these times..

Our 'founding fathers' had all kinds of skeletons in their closet so let's not pretend that only a small select perfect angels are allowed to apply.

Exactly!
The bar was lowered when the frat-boy (Dubya) was selected back in 2000.
By the way, Reagan was just an actor.

I think we can agree that the same won't happen with Trump.

I'm not sure why you don't think it does. There are Constitutional standards and the people of the United States at large are not stupid. They're not going to elect the charismatic fool from the Rent is Too Damn High Party. They're not going to elect Mickey Mouse in an overwhelming write-in campaign.
Let them evaluate Trump on his merits, should he decide to run (and I remain unconvinced).

And LBJ was a redneck from the hill country of Texas, Truman was a failed haberdasher, and so forth and so on. It's what they do once they get in office that determines what kind of President they are.
I still don't believe that Trump has the temperment to be elected President in his own right.
