So I was blocked from sending any friend requests for a couple days.. in essence, Facebook lectures its users on the rudeness of sending friend requests to someone they might not know —all the while spamming them silly with unwanted advertisements— and suspends basic privileges for having the audacity to dare meet someone new on a social networking site.. Does this tick off anyone else out there, or am I alone in my disgust?

Really? I have never been aware of that. And I have added quite a few people I had no obvious association (school, home town,...) with. Perhaps someone you tried to add reported you and facebook put a ban on you for that reason?
